When Edward picked her up from Riza's place, she wondered if he was taking her out on a date. And after arguing about which movie to watch, watching a movie, and arguing about the plot and characters of said movie, she still didn't know if he considered this a date. In her book, generally speaking, if a guy takes a girl out for a movie and none of his guy friends are there, then it normally qualifies as a date. Especially if said boy kissed said girl before said date.

But, Edward didn't qualify as "normal" and he certainly wasn't acting like a guy on a date. Case in point: the comment "You two make such a cute couple" sent him blushing and sputtering.

Winry sighed and sipped from her drink after the café waitress left. That sort of reaction was to be expected from Ed. By now, Ed had moved past the waitress' comment and was slouched in his seat.

"So...what are you doing for the final," Winry finally asked, moving to a more stable topic.

"Playing the piano," he smirked.

She rolled her eyes and glared, "Don't be a smartass."

"I'm helping Al with his."

"Oh," she dropped her gaze.

"Why do you ask?" she could feel the pressure from his eyes. She hesitated and when she took too long to answer, "You didn't finish yet?"

"No!" she snapped, "It's not that. Ling helped me with it."

"Then what is it?"

"I was wondering if you'd be...willing to play accompaniment," she wondered why she was so nervous; it wasn't as if she asked him out on a date or something.

"Well, I guess I could do it," he mumbled, looking a little surprised.

"Are you sure?" Winry wasn't expecting an answer like that.

He avoided eye contact and—wait, was he blushing?—muttered, "Why not?"

She smiled, "Thanks Ed." And she meant it with all her heart.

The next ten to fifteen minutes were spent deciding when and where to meet for practice. And by the time she and Edward got back to Riza's place, Winry was equally excited and nervous about the upcoming performance. But, she still wasn't sure if she just went out on a date with Edward Elric.

A/N: So what do you think? It's my first time posting something that isn't poetry. It's also my first time writing a piece of EdWin. (They're my OTP.) If you're a fellow EdWin fan, check out my favorites. I have a great collection of good EdWin fics in my faves! (And yes, it includes "Nocturne for a Lady". Finaljoy hurry up with the next chapter! XD)

And yes, this is not beta'd. I tried to avoid all basic spelling and grammar mistakes. (One sentence in Microsoft Word is marked as a sentence fragment. That was on purpose.) So yeah.
