Hey, guys! So I had a competition on one of my other Maximum Ride stories (Maximum Awkwardness). It was a basic, name the blah blah blah and I'll write a one-shot with two characters. So IggyshotterthanFang answered correctly and said Niggy. So here is my little Niggy thingy.

Disclaimer: I wish I owned Maximum Ride, but sadly, JP does...

Note: I'm not exactly sure when this is, one of the times they were staying in the caves

Nudge was sitting on the edge of the cliff looking across the water. She hadn't been able to sleep that night, too many things were floating around in her head. She drew her legs up to her chest and wrapped her arms around them, savour in the little warmth it gave her. This was one of the times Nudge wished to be a normal girl, to go to school, to have a warm bed every night, have sleepovers and things like that. But that would mean she'd have to leave the flock, her family.

"Nudge?" A voice travelled from inside the cave. Nudge spun her head around to see Iggy emerging from the back of the cave.

"Hey," Nudge whispered as Iggy sat down next to her. "What are you doing up? It's the middle of the night."

"I was about to ask you the same question. Couldn't sleep?" He guessed and she nodded. "Guess that makes two of us."

"So has Max told you where we're heading next?" Nudge asked as she shivered and it took everything in her not to inch closer to the boy beside her.

"Does she ever? She doesn't tell anyone, except Fang of course. I swear I'll hit him backwards across the head the next time he tries to talk to me about how when the sunlight bounces of her hair at just the right angle she looks like a goddess." Nudge laughed at the girly-and totally un-Fang like-tone he used. Iggy always knew how to lighten up the mood, it was one of the things she loved about him.

Nudge shivered again but this time he noticed. "Are you cold?" Iggy asked. He shrugged off his jacket and put it around her shoulders but as he drew back his hand scraped along the bare skin of her neck line.

Nudge blushed as she asked, "But aren't you cold?" He shook his head.

"Even if I was, I wouldn't want you to freeze. The world would be at a loss." Was he flirting? She asked herself. Surely not, he's all Iggy and I'm just... Nudge.

Her thoughts were cut off by a hand wrapping around her shoulders. She looked up at Iggy. "I'm sorry, is this too much?" He queried.

He went to withdraw his arm but before he could her hand flew up and caught hold of his. "No," Nudge whispered as she moved closer and snuggled into his side. "This is perfect."

A something exploded from over the mountains and the sky lit up in a display of reds, greens, blues and purples. "Fireworks," Nudge breathed. She'd seen videos of them going off on the internet, they were used to celebrate special occasions like the New Year and Christmas.

The scene went for a long time, different shapes, sizes and colours lighting up the sky. The final one was a word, or to be more precise, three words. 'Happy new year!'

"Happy new year, Nudge," Iggy breathed and leant down and kissed her. When Nudge said it was perfect before, she was wrong. This was perfect.

So this is one of the shortest I've written but it seemed suitable to stop it there. So, yeah. Hope you enjoyed my bit of Niggy and please review!
