"You know this is kind of nice considering" Pearl said almost sounding tired.
"It is quite peaceful" Garnet said. She warped the bubbled gem beside her and lay back in the grass. She put her hands behind her head and crossed a leg over the other and continued to look up at the sky. There was a nice breeze that came and went every so often and the stars glimmered so brightly it looked as if they were dancing.
Amethyst and Pearl both looked back up at the sky while lying on the grass hill. The 3 of them lay there taking it all in, just enjoying the moments of peace and beauty for a while.
They lay in a triangle formation at the top of the grassy hill. It was surrounded by odd trees that's turquoise leaves swayed in the breeze. There was a small opening in the trees were you could see the stars and that's where they lie looking up at those stars that shimmered. You could see parts of the galaxy's arms. It was so different compared to Beach City's sky and different from the skies of the places they've gone to before on missions.
They became almost hypnotized by the stars but were soon taken out of their daze as small fireflies began to glow around them. The breeze became more constant with stronger gusts occasionally whipping by.
Pearl sighed contently observing the stars and the fireflies. They danced together in harmony like a ballet of light, the breeze it's music and the trees it's adoring audience.
Amethyst yawned and sat up, shaking her hair with her hands then faced the wind and felt it tickle her skin and move through her hair. It felt like ocean waves swirling around her. Cool and calm like she was at the bottom of a pool, the sky and fireflies being the light of a house and neighborhoods distorted under the cool liquid. Amethyst closed her eyes and smiled.
Garnet removed her glasses, a firefly immediately landing on her nose.
"Hello" she said softly with a slight smile. She raised a finger and let it crawl onto it. She sat up and coaxed the bug to fly with its friends. It flew towards two others who where hovering. They met and hovered together for a second then flew off together. She watched them until they blended with the other fireflies.
Amethyst brought her knees to her chest and hugged them there, giving a sigh. Pearl sat up and positioned her legs to the side and put her hands on her lap.
They all sat looking in different directions absorbing the soothing and beautiful energy of the place.
"This place…it's so beautiful" Pearl said almost in a whisper.
"Yeah" Amethyst replied, eyes closed.
They sat there contently for a few minutes before Garnet spoke up
"We better get going before this consumes us in it's beautiful trap" Garnet joked.
Amethyst and Pearl gave a smile and a laugh.
"I guess you're right, it is about time we head back" Pearl said with a tinge of disappointment in her voice
"Aw, it's so nice here though" Amethyst whimpered as she stood up and slouched over in a pout.
Garnet got to her feet then helped Pearl get up to her's.
They then headed towards the direction of the warp pad.
Amethyst stopped and looked back for a second looking at the peaceful place. The fireflies were slowly drifting else where now, and the breeze was dulling. Amethyst, after taking in what was left of the moment without her on the hill, turned and ran to catch up with her teammates.
