-hey baby- said the ME, while she lifted her head from some files- what happened, girl?-

-he is having dinner with the bimbo-she said approaching to Lanie's side reeling a bit

-have you been drinking?- the ME turned her head to face Beckett's eyes

-well,-a giggle slipped out of her mouth-maybe a little bit with Colin, and then a little bit alone- a shy smile slipped out of her mouth- but I'm fine.

Great, thought Lanie, that is going to be a good chance to make her talk. So she sat down in a chair as Kate echoed her.

-aren't you going to fight? – the ME decided to start playing

After what seemed hours for Kate, she found the right words to answer her friend's question. Lifted her head and looked her straight in the eye.

-I don't know if I want to fight anymore… it seems like he has chosen, and i'm not the one chosen. –her voice was full of sadness-I've been trying to change for the last year … you know how hard I've been working with Burke, the wall was almost down, we were almost there …. until the bimbo appeared.-the detective didn't lift her head she just stared at her hands nervously.
