Hey guys! So had originally posted this over a year ago, and I realized I really liked this idea, but my writing style has changed a lot. I've more or less updated this to make this 10 times less cringy for me, so enjoy! -imkindofahobbit XX
Lily Evans stumbled into the head's common room she shared with none other than James Potter, dragging her abnormally large bag behind her. Lily threw herself on the couch, grudgingly pulling out her potions book and a fresh page of parchment. The red-headed witch sighed, rubbing her forehead, regretting putting off her essay for so long. She pulled a new quill out of her bag and began her essay, occasionally getting sidetracked and doodling in the margin.
"How do you write so fast?" Lily jumped looking up, and meeting a mop of messy black hair. Potter. She hadn't even noticed he'd come back from practice.
"Potter, you scared me."
"Sorry Lils, but seriously you just started that and you almost done for god's sake."
"Why are you jealous?" Lily asked playfully.
"Psht no. Why would I want to be a fast writer when I'm clearly a better drawer?" He said gesturing to Lily's doodle cover parchment.
"Oh really?" she laughed, abandoning the essay.
"Oh course! I'm like the next Picasso! Here, allow me to demonstrate." James grabbed a blank piece of parchment, and joining her on the couch. Pulling the quill from her hand, James started drawing the worst stick figure that Lily had ever seen.
"Wow great job, Picasso!" Lily said, voice was dripping with sarcasm. "That is like comparing the Beatles to some crappy boy band! Sorry to break it to you, but I highly doubt you'll be a famous artist soon. You should just stick to being an Auror."
"At least I'm a better quidditch player than you and I'm no where near as clumsy."
"Okay, I admit you're a fair player, but that's not fair because I've never flown a day in my life. Also you didn't seem to mind my clumsiness when Sirius tripped me and I landed in your arms-the horror!" Lily joked, nudging his shoulder.
"Don't pretend you didn't love it," James said smirking. Lily stuck out her tongue out at James.
"Oh I don't know, I still think I'm scared from the whole experience." James laughed, running a large hand through his messy hair.
"You know, Lils, I'm quite impressed you've managed to tolerate me and put off your essay all in one sitting. You deserve an award."
"Oh shut it. We've been friends for a while now. I'm impressed that we haven't fought in over two months, and anyways I always tolerate you, James." James. When did that happen, and more importantly when did she start flirting with James. Potter hadn't been the insufferable, arrogant toe-rag he was last year. James really had grown up and no one could deny he did not lack in looks, and was sweet, funny, and not a total bigheaded git…maybe just maybe she could give him a chance…
"Lils, are you ok?" Lily snapped out of her thoughts.
"Huh? Oh, um yeah. Fine," She smiled, trying to hide her blushing face. "We should probably head down to dinner, yeah?"
Man I'm glad I'm back. Hope you enjoyed. This just brought back a ton of feelings about this guy who inspired James in this. Pour quoi? Anyways if you want more then just ask! If not I'm planning on leaving this as a one-shot. -Imkindofahobbit
