Hey this is just a short fic on Rin's thoughts, slight spoilers if your not up to date with the manga.
"It will be alright," he whispered to himself.
The room was silent except for the slight creak from the bed as Rin lay down in it.
Unwillingly, he began contemplating the events of the past few days. "They know now," he thought.
He grimaced as the memory of the expressions they had worn upon seeing him in his demonic state came unbidden into his mind.
"I am the son of Satan." Rin said aloud, clearly with no hint of shame.
He let out a long sigh. He had come to terms with this fact some time ago. He wondered if his friends would be able to as well.
He passed a hand through his messy hair. Bon had been pissed, but he had expected that. Shiemi had cried though and the others...the others had been afraid.
Rin brought an arm up to cover his eyes. He really hadn't wanted to scare anybody. He couldn't bring himself to regret his actions however, not when they had saved his friends lives. And maybe it would be easier now; no more sneaking around, constantly hiding his powers.
He snorted, "Not like I was any good at that anyway." He recalled the many times his flames had escaped from his control. In fact, he was surprised that they hadn't found out earlier.
He remembered the hurt that had come with being feared again. It stirred those old feelings inside of him, the ones that told him to retreat. To hide under an angry facade, until he couldn't see their faces anymore. Until they all became vague, angry blurs, who were no longer able to hurt him.
Rin's hands clenched of their own accord. "I will never go back to that" he thought angrily. He had promised, promised to use his "talents" for others, in kindness.
He smiled and his hands unclenched. It had felt good to be kind. To see the smile on somebody's face, knowing that he had caused it.
He chuckled; he would make them come around. He would show his friends who and what he was again. He was going to make it alright.
He would make them smile.
