for it being a series so steeped in dragons and magic i'm surprised on how little crossovers there is with the inheritance cycle.
i have hundreds of ideas, but i couldn't write a story to save my life so i'm putting out the idea for someone to try.
A female Eragon (Eraganna maybe) is actually Jon's mother. she meets Ned before the rebellion starts. when she is looking for a home to start up the new order. Ned never meets saphira, and doesn't really know a lot about eragon, only that she has a lot of guards (the elves that traveled with her in disguise) and that she came from a distant land that he had never heard of, and that she had been very secretive on what she was doing in westeros. when it is time for her to move on they sleep together even though ned has just been married. when she finds out shes pregnant they are still living on the ships and she comes to the decision the baby would be better with ned on dry land untill she has a home settled. they head back to westeros and she sends one of her companions as a messenger to ned. they meet after he has found his sister and they agree that he will raise the boy untill such a time that she can return for him (where she will test him with a dragon egg, which ned does not know about). she will keep in touch with ned (which he keep secret) to know how her son is doing. however it takes longer than she would of like to find a suitable home for the dragons, and when she doesn't hear from ned in a year (hes dead) she starts making her way back to westeros. Everything in westeros goes the same way as the show up untill the point in which Eragon shows up, ( i was thinking just before the Red wedding, where she will then go on to save Rob). she and the elves start in kings landing and figure out what happened to ned and how the country has descended into war again. she goes to robb to find out where jon is. she isn't very happy to find out where he is. Cat also isn't too happy to find out who she is.
i was thinking Murtagh may even join her.
i have plenty of ideas on where to go. If anyone wants to take this up i would be happy to give ideas and even read through it and help where i can.
Kathy.
