Silver, Shadow and Knuckles stood, watching the horizon fro any signs of the blue hero Sonic. He had raced off to face their latest and worst threat so far who had happened to kidnap Amy.
"Usually I kind of know that Sonic will win, but now…I'm really worried." Spoke the Echidna who had witnessed how powerful this new foe was first hand.
"Don't worry," Silver told him, "He defeats the bad dude, gets the girl and then everyone helps with the planning of-"
Shadow stopped his speech and gave him one of his glares.
"Damn! Everyone's going to kill me! And all separately, not together. That's at least seven deaths." Silver continued to curse himself.
"C'mon, it can't be that bad," Knuckles told him.
But silver was too worked up, "Not that bad? Not that bad? I just said how my mum's parents got together, a big no in time travel, she'll kill me!
There was a pause of silence that you'd be able to hear the insects move in, that is if they dared to be the first to make a sound.
"You're Sonic's…grandchild?!"
"Well done Knuckles," Shadow said as he walked over to the shocked echidna. He got out a chaos emerald and quickly held it up to Knuckles forehead. There was a flash and the dark hedgehog turned to Silver, "Lucky for you, he won't remember anything."
"As I was saying, I hope they're both okay," Knuckles was back to looking for Sonic, as if nothing had happened. "You know," he turned to both hedgehogs, "He told me that he and Amy were engaged before he left."
Shadow and Silver glanced at each other, "Really?"
"Silver, you're from the future right? How does all this end up?"
Silver opened his mouth but what he was going to say was never heard because Shadow grabbed his arm. "That's it, I'm taking you home."
And using the emerald still in his hand he yelled, "Chaos Control!"
"What's his problem?" Knuckles asked himself. "Silver is Sonic's grandson, if anyone knows how today ends, it'd be him."

Okay, Knuckles actually knew all along that Silver is related to Sonic, he just had to act surprised so no one else knew he did. Besides, it's just fun to give Shadow a lot of grief.
