A Growing Concept

"............really-super-mega short oneshot about Barney loving Robin. aw, arent they cute together?!"

They had been friends for years- but he had always felt more. Things had changed so much throughout those years, and they had all become closer. Ted was one girlfriend closer to meeting Mrs. Ted Mosbey, Lily and Marshal had grown in their relationship, and Robin had prospered in her career, but not so much in boyfriends. They had come and gone, but she knew that none of them were "the one". And as for Barney himself, every week he woke up to a stranger, that he had meaninglessly used and thrown away.

Barney as getting tired and growing old of the charade. It was becoming sad- it just wasn't the same now as it was then; when Ted was with Robin, and Lily and Marshal were newly weds, and it was just them, with no one else. But so much had changed, and along with one of those things that had changed, was himself.

Even now, as he stared at Robin through the bar's outer glass, he felt it. It was a growing concept- he was definiately in love with Robin. But he could never tell her- not any time soon, anyways. He smiled as she accepted the beer that her ex-boyfriend/ long-time friend, Ted Mosbey.

Sometimes, Barney wondered if Ted knew how he felt about Robin. He knew that, since Ted was his best friend, and Robin was his ex, he should tell Ted how he felt, but he couldn't find himself capable of doing that. He could barely find himself admitting he loved her!

Barney could see Robin from the window, and their eyes met for a minute. She smiled, and waved at him. He politely smiled, and waved back. When she turned around, he started walking in the cold New York air as snow fell onto the already white ground.

Robin was so perfect- he couldn't find any faults in her! Sure, there were some things people might consider faults, but he found those "faults" making him fall more in love with her. 'Wow', he thought. 'I've changed so much.'

(And it was true. He must of passed at least three hot blondes that were extremely drunk, and never noticed once.)

Barney had no idea where he was going- he was walking around New York, with no destination in mind. He stared blankly at whatever laid ahead of him, and smiled. The only thing he thought of while he passed by the window shops full of brightly colored objects and people, was Robin.

He had no doubt that Robin was his perfect match, and that he was in love with her. Now, all he had todo was take the next step- admit this to Robin. But it wasn't time yet. He didn't know when it would be, or how he would say it, but he did know that he would confess his love sooner or lately.

It was all just a matter of time, and maybe even a bit of magic. All he could do until that time came, was think about Robin, and day dream about the life he wished they could live together.

".............lol i hope that didn't suck!!! please r&r!!! feel free 2 tell me if it sucked!!!!"
