"I'm sorry, I know it means nothing, but I'm sorry,"

Neku kicked the Cat Mural for the fourth time as Shiki spoke to Rhyme, pacing by were they sat. Shiki was hugging the younger girl, smoothing her blond hair out.

"Neku, calm down this isn't help-,"

"I know Shiki!" he snapped, "It's just…" He flopped down on Rhymes other side, gently taking the envelope from her hands pulling the letter out.

Dear Bito family,

The lost of a loved one is never easy, I'm sorry to be in the position to inform you of your son and brother's, Daisukenooj 'Beat' Bito, death. He died on the 16th day of April living the way he died, thinking of others. I was blessed enough to know your son through the foreign studies program he was in.

On the morning of April 16th Beat boarded the bus to the beach with my younger brother, his host family and I. When we came to one of the bus stops a man bored, sitting a few seats in front of us, as soon as the bus started to move the man pulled a Glock 17 gun on the bus driver. We drove around for an hour and a half, being held at gun point. My younger broth had started to cry, and the gun man started to wave the gun around, threatening to shoot. My brother tried to get up to hide, and the man aimed the gun. Beat took the bullet for him. Immediately after he was taken down by a pair of men. He took the bullet to the chest and was pronounced dead on site.

I wish I could be there for you to tell you how grateful I am of Beat's honesty, courage and unwillingness to give up. I wish I could introduce you to the sweet boy's life he saved; I wish I could bring back this incredible older brother.

All Beat cold ever talk about was his younger sister, his parents he loved even if they didn't understand and his friends that he would die for.

Neku couldn't take it anymore he folded the letter and set it along with its envelope on the ground.

"Did you read it?" Rhyme asked him, hugging Mr. Mew (Shiki had brought him just for this reason)

"Yes,"

"And?"

Before Neku could give his reply they heard footsteps.

"What do you want?" Neku asked the dusty haired young man that stood before the group.

"This time? Nothing," Joshua told Neku. Neku suddenly jumped up, grabbing Joshua's Collar.

"Can't you do something!?" He yelled. Joshua stood there, face betraying no emotions.

"You know I can't Neku. I have no power right outside of Shibuya, forget about half way around the world in California," Neku slowly released Joshua, sinking back down.

"Here," Joshua knelt in front of Rhyme, "come with me,"

Rhyme stared at his offered hand and she slowly moved, first handing Mr. Mew, picking up the letter, and then taking the Composer's hand. Joshua began to move away from Shiki and Neku, but Rhyme planted her feet.

"What do you plan to do Joshua?" she asked. It made Shiki and Neku uncomfortable; he voice was drained of all that kindness, that happiness. Everything that made Rhyme Rhyme seemed to be gone.

"To show you Beat isn't gone, though he is," Joshua's lips began to curl into a smile. "You're brother left a huge mark on Shibuya, on its people, as have you, Shiki and Neku," He gently tugged at her hand, "It's your job Rhyme to make sure people don't forget him, or anything he helped create, that is the only way he could truly die, if you let Shibuya forget him. Live for your brother and yourself," He gently lowered her hand and let go, "Now stay standing, keep your head up and go live,"
