Fire

Fire. . .some kind of. . .fire,

No! Energy! Some kind of Arching electricity,

Is this Death?

No, this is diferent, he knew he should be dead, but he was. . .something diferent. He glanced around, he was standing, or. . .stood up. Some kind of pain in his head, where he lost his ear years before.

Who are these people?

Mantrins?

Yes, they were. Not like the ones he knew, they were. . .black. . .grey, darker colours than the others. Preed squinted, shakeing his head. He was in so mutch pain, his neck throbed with blinding pain. Preed was sedated somehow, the pain was tolerable. One of the Mantrins walked up to him, looked into his eyes. He was stareing strait at him. The Mnatrin was old, very old, but his eyes had a strange glow.

"Welcome back to the world of the living, Akrenian," The old Mantrins said. "My name is Xin."

Preed mooved his mouth, wheezeing.

"Don't try to speak." Xin said. "You neck is still healing, and your far to sedated to speak legedly."

Xin steped back, Preed noiced four long meatal rods sticking though his chest. Looked down, the back at preed smileing.

"Do you like them" He asked with a twisted smile. "I received these as a gift from the Namanian Redgaurd, wne I was executed fro treason, immagine their surprise when the find me alive again, and feeling better than I ever did."

"H .. .H. . .How?" Preed wheezed.

Xin raised an eyebrow. "You heal faster then I thouhgt," HE said. "You will be of use to us Akrennian. " Xin scrathced the sore area arund the spikes, "It's an ancheint Machine I came by on an Akrenian Smuggler's ship. One of the Mantrin Forbiden engines, It's called the Golem Engine."

"Go. . .go. . .Golem Engine. ." Preed said with reverence,

"Yes, A legend thoughout the Spiral arm." Xin said. "The macine able to bring life back to a dead body, and even restore it more abundantly."

"Why?" Preed breathed,

Xin nodded. "I brought you back to life Akrenian, because the macine is not complete," Xin griped on of the spike,s shakeing it. "If it was, your neck would not be in sutch pain, and this would be able to heal itself. We are currently little more than animated corpses dependant on a constant enery field to continue brain functions. The Complte Golem macine will make me whole, as well as you."

"So," Preed said. "There's. . .something in it for both of us?"

"Very mutch so," Xin said. "I want my thorne, I want my honor, and with an army of soldeirs that never die, I could easylyl toppe the Republic."

"So. . .Where is the rest. . ." Preed whispered,

"On a planet know only as 'bob' " Xin said. "You see, the components necisary only exist in one other macine in existence, the ship known as the Titan."
