"Now Ichigo," Captain Ukitake said, "You will be able to join any division as a Captain or Vice Captain." He gestured at the captains and said, "Pick."
Ichigo looked around at the captains and vice captains assembled. Most of them were staring straight ahead. Some watched him intently. One pair of eyes stared intensely at him. The owner fidgeted nervously and grasped the hilt of a Zanpaktou.
"I really don't know Captain," Ichigo said finally, "I don't really want to take people from their positions."
Ukitake winked at the captain with the intense gaze. He could see that that captain really wanted Ichigo on the squad.
The captain jerked nervously, noticing the wink. The captain blushed and stood straighter. Ukitake tapped Ichigo on the shoulder and said, "Why don't you join that squad?" He pointed.
The captain stepped forward. "Captain Soi Fong, of the 2nd squad and the Special Corps." She smiled nervously at Ichigo and stepped back. She was wearing the shozoku uniform to make herself look better.
"Would like to join her squad?" Ukitake asked. He smiled kindly.
"Uh, ok." Ichigo decided. He walked over to Soi Fong and stood beside her.
"And what position would you like?"
"Vice Captain sir!" Ichigo called out without hesitation. He would not take this girl from her position. He looked at the girl. She was very pretty and a little shorter than him. She also looked remarkably good in that uniform.
At the same time, the Soi Fong looked at him. She noticed his muscles and his height. He was the ryoka that had achieved Bankai in only three days. She felt a shudder of excitement at the prospect of sparring with him.
"1st Captain Yamamoto," she began, causing Ichigo to glance at her. "Would it be possible to have TWO captains for one squad?" Ichigo stared in amazement.
"Hmm," Yamamoto paused, "Yes it would." Smiles appeared on Ichigo's and Soi Fong's face. "But, you will not have a vice captain."
"Just make sure you don't kill anyone or destroy anything while you're sparring." The Captain General smiled, "Dismissed."
"Come with me, Captain" Soi Fong smiled playfully and tugged Ichigo outside. He stumbled along, surprise at the girl's attitude. The other captains and vice captains called out congratulation to Ichigo. He yelled back thanks to every one.
"So captain," Soi Fong began, "It seems I have gotten you a high position." She stopped and stared up at Ichigo, "Where is my thank you?" She expected a regular response but got a different one instead.
Ichigo smiled. He leaned slightly downward at her and kissed her on the lips. On looking Death Gods all went, "Awwwwww!"
She stumbled backwards in a daze, a red blush on her face.
Ichigo took her by the hand and walked along. "So Captain," he said, "Let's go spar!" The dazed Soi Fong could only nod.
Ichigo chuckled and walked on.
