Benny

A/N: My first fanfic! *Does a little dance* Anyway, just a little oneshot about a man and his car! Fluffy, mechanic, and hopefully a little entertaining! Reviews are the chocolate to my Remus Lupin..I NEED them.

Disclaimer: I don't even own my own computer. Let alone Harry Potter. (sniffsniffsniff)

Ron Weasley had always had a fascination with cars. It started the fall before he started Hogwarts. Bill took him to a car show in the village. He was entranced by the hum of the engine, and the sparkle of the paint in the late Autumn sun. Bill had to drag him home that night, and all through out that year Ron helped Arthur with his latest project. A blue Ford Anglia, they nicknamed Benny, who seemed to have a mind of its own.

Two years later, Ron and Harry missed the train to Hogwarts. Ron immediately thought of Benny. And when they crashed, he mourned the loss of the four fendered friend. Later that year, he was so happy to see Benny in the forest, he almost forgot about the Acromantula trying to strangle him.

After Ron's second year, Benny slipped from memory. However, During the final struggle against Voldemort many fighters claimed to have seen a beat up old car that seemed to have joined the fight. After the battle, Ron found Benny, and it became his project once again.

Now nearly ten years after the fateful car show, Ron Weasley found himself sitting on the hood of Benny, He and Hermione had spent the day "muggling," complete with a picnic and stargazing. But Ron didn't enjoy it. All day he had a dainty diamond ring burning a hole in his pocket. Well, he thought, it's now or never. Even if she says no, we still got each other, Benny. He turned to face Hermione.

"'Mione?" He asked tentatively.

"Yes, Ron?"She sighed. Ron panicked.

"Uuh..It's..It's a beautiful night...isn't it? Bloody coward. I fight dark wizards on a daily basis, yet I'm too scared to ask the woman I love to marry me. Where's that Gryffindor courage now, Weasley? "Hermione, I..I have something to ask you." His ears were slowly starting to burn up.

"Honestly Ronald, you don't have to announce it. Just ask me the question! Now or never.

"Willyoumarryme?" He blurted. She was quiet. Dammit. You failed me Benny."I'm sorry. It was stupid."

"What are you saying?" She sounded excited. Excited good. We might still have a chance, Ben. She grabbed the ring out of Ron's sweaty palm, slipped it on her finger, and kissed him hard. Ron patted the old car.

We did good Benny.

A/N: Thank you for reading to the end! I hope you enjoyed Ron's little carmance. Remember, the review fairy leaves presents;)
