I Am the Wind


"My heart… it's beating," the wind demon said. Her heart pounded in her chest, but she was still on the verge of death. The blood seeped through her chest.

"I am Kagura. No, I am the wind," the demon named Kagura said as she stared into the sky. "Where shall I go? I can go anywhere. I am free."

The dark haired demon sat in a meadow of flowers. Naraku had given Kagura her heart back, but stabbed her with his evil tentacles. She betrayed Naraku by helping the half demon Inuyasha and his friends.

'I wish to see him… One more time,' Kagura thought to herself. The weak demon tried to move, but her body failed to her because of the blood loss and the miasma in her body.

"Dammit. My body won't do what I want," she said to herself. The demon looked at the meadow in front of her. The white flowers flying around her was all she saw, besides he forest.

"It sure is quiet. No one is here."

Kagura's face saddened as she looked in front of her. 'Will it end here? Just by myself… This is… the freedom I was seeking.'

Then something came into her sight. White.

'Sesshoumaru?' she asked in her mind.

"I came following the scent of Naraku's miasma," the full-fledged dog demon said.

"Heh. Did I disappoint you? That I wasn't Naraku?" the weak wind demon said looking down at the ground though still with a small smile on her face.

Sesshoumaru looked at the demon. Though his face showed no emotion, he was in awe at her beauty.

"I knew it was you," Sesshoumaru said looking straight at Kagura, whose eyes grew wide. Kagura briefly looked up at the silver-haired man in front of her.

"I see." Kagura said. 'You came here… knowing it was me…'

Sesshoumaru put his hand on his healing sword Tenseiga, waiting for a response from it. But there was none. 'Tenseiga can't save her.'

"You leaving?"

"Yeah… soon," Kagura said feebly.

Sesshoumaru kept looking at Kagura. 'Her wound is so monstrous…'

As Sesshoumaru looked at her, Kagura thought. 'At the end… I got to see you. One last time.' Then the demon started to fall back and fade into the wind.

'She's gone…..' Sesshoumaru thought.
