Okay, this is the first of my larger series, involving my OC, Alia. It starts just after Aizen's betrayal, and I'm basically going to rewrite the series, but with Alia at the center of it. She's not going to be a major character, necessarily, but it will mostly be written from her point of view. I promise, I will not change what we all love about Bleach, its plot, its characters, etc. At least not very much. But I can tell you now, Hitsugaya will be much more involved than he is in the real Bleach, because I love him.
WARNING: I am going to put this warning in any of my stories that contain my OC, Alia. Alia is NOT a Mary-Sue. She very definitely is not. However, at times, particularly when she is talking about the Guardians, she may seem a little annoyingly "goody two-shoes." I promise that those parts will not last long, but they're necessary to get the point across, which is mostly that it's impossible to have true perfection according to the standards of different societies. So if you're the type who hates any OC who does not consistently display gaping flaws, then do not read this. Thank you.
This first chapter is not very long, sorry. But enjoy nonetheless. And please review! I will update anyway, but it's nice to have motivation.
Tensions were already high when she appeared.
Of course, the Shinigami were always on their guard, always appropriately wary of odd things happening. But it was different this time. They were tense, overly wary…. And maybe even a bit scared. For something so shocking to happen from within the Seireitei itself…
It had only been a week since the Gotei 13 saw the violent betrayal of three of their captains, and already, something else was happening. Something that was strange in itself, and with tensions so high, with everyone so worried and so afraid, it was not met the way it usually would be.
It formed outside the eighth division; the vice-captain, Nanao, saw it first. Or rather, felt it. At first, it was just an odd disturbance in space, like a gathering of strange energy. Anyone who got near it would feel a strange chill, as though it had suddenly become winter, only in that spot. The twelfth division attempted to scan it, with no success. They said that nothing was out of place according to any of their technology. Within six days, it had become a visible disturbance. In another day, it formed the strangest thing any of them had ever seen—it looked like a mini black hole, suspended about two feet off the ground, with a diameter of about eight feet. It appeared as almost a solid object, a swirling black mass, rather like a violent thundercloud.
Despite its obvious real presence there, the twelfth division still reported that according to everything they knew, it did not exist. Captain Kyouraku, ignoring the strict warnings of his vice-captain, stuck his hand through the middle of it, visibly shuddered, and reported that it "sure is cold and gloomy."
On the eighth day after it formed, something finally happened.
The odd black cloud outside the eighth division very suddenly began emitting energy so strong that the younger division members started to feel weak. Kyouraku ordered any unseated officers to take refuge in the seventh and ninth division buildings until there was a change. Then he, Nanao, and four others went to investigate the sudden change.
The "cloud" was fluctuating, swirling around more rapidly than before and changing shape slightly. As they approached, it suddenly glowed a bright white and seemed to shrink before their eyes—disappearing into wherever it came from. However, it did not disappear entirely. It closed around a human shape, and as the bright light faded, they saw that the cloud had gone, leaving behind a person. The last of the light faded, and they turned to see what it had left behind.
A girl, human in appearance, was suspended in the air where the cloud had been moments before. As they watched, she opened her eyes and seemed to float down to the ground, touching down lightly. She stared straight ahead, not seeming to see them.
Kyouraku stepped forward, closely followed by the five others. However, he had barely opened his mouth to speak when she let out a soft, quiet sigh of breath and collapsed, falling gracefully to the ground at their feet, unconscious.
