I'm sorry, for two things. The shitty quality of this oneshot and my prolonged absence. I've been working on something original (that will be on FictionPress when it's ready, I go under Shufflebot there too) and that's been taking up a lot of writing time. Unfortunately that means all of my current fics are on hiatus, but I will be back to finish them eventually.

Elementary

Kyle rubbed his temples as his third grade class left his classroom for home, he loved his job but sometimes they were particularly rowdy, as was the case today.

"I heard that Mr. Broflovski like-likes Mr. Marsh."

Sometimes Kyle hated how perceptive kids were.

Mr. Marsh was the PE teacher who was the same age as Kyle and yes, Kyle had the teeniest crush on him.

Okay it was a pretty big crush but the details weren't too important.

"Hey Kyle?"

Kyle looked up to see Mr. Marsh standing in the doorway, "Hey Stan."

"Hey dude," Stan grinned at him, "All the teachers are going out tonight, are you coming with?"

"I dunno," Kyle shrugged, "So much fucking marking to do."

"Well, give me a call if you are."

"Sure."

When Kyle and Stan had first met they had taken a liking to each other immediately and had formed a strong friendship.

Kyle put all of his marking and work he had to do at home in his briefcase and walked through the corridors to his car. On his way he spotted two kids from his class grabbing stuff from their lockers.

"We need to set Mr. Broflovski and Mr. Marsh up."

Kyle nearly choked on his own spit at hearing this. He walked over to the two of them.

"C'mon you two," He put on a genial smile, "You're gonna miss the bus or your parents are gonna be waiting."

The two sped up, "See ya Mr. Broflovski."

Kyle smiled as they set off, sometimes they took him back to his own childhood and he had fond memories of that time.

That next Monday when he walked into the classroom, every child in his class was gathered in the space at the front of the room, talking in hushed whispers. Even the kids who didn't get along with each other were talking together without a hint of an argument. As soon as they saw Kyle they all scattered to their seats.

"What's going on?" Kyle asked.

"Nothing," Every child replied in unison, it was honestly kinda creepy.

Kyle raised an eyebrow as he took out the worksheets he needed for the lesson, he shook it off quickly as he started writing on the blackboard.

That lunchtime one of the girls in his class ran into his room and grabbed his hand.

"Mr. Broflovski! There's been a fight!"

"Where?"

The girl pulled him through corridors, weaving between students before she suddenly pushed him into a janitor's closet.

"You too huh?"

Kyle turned to Stan sitting on the floor.

"What are they doing?" Kyle asked as he tried open the door, which was being blocked by something.

"I overheard a group of them at recess," Stan explained, "I think they're trying to set us up."

Kyle's jaw dropped and a dark blush overtook his cheeks.

"So, how would like to go to dinner on Friday?"

"Uh… I… Yeah, sure," Kyle stuttered, "I'd love to."

They heard a faint squeal from outside the closet.

"Morning kids!"

"Good morning Mr. Marsh."

Kyle smiled at the kids' response. He now taught fifth grade, having been assigned to the class for the fourth grade as well.

Not that he minded, he'd grown to like this bunch, he'd miss them when they left.

In the two years since the kids had set them up, he and Stan had gotten married. They'd gotten each child a present from their honeymoon to Disney World.

"So can anyone remember what we did last lesson?"

And with that they faded back into normality, but he'd always be thankful for these kids, they're the reason he has the ring on his finger.

I rushed this out so I could tell you guys about what was going on, sorry again for the shoddy quality.
