Disclaimer: I don't own Digimon, the concept, or its characters. They belong to Bandai, Toei Animation, Saban... maybe others as well. I'm merely using them for my own personal enjoyment. Please don't sue

Notes: Iori is one of my two favorites from Digimon Zero Two (the other being Daisuke). It was only fair, then, that my first Digimon drabble focus on him.

Not sure of an actual timeline. Maybe a little after season two.

An Understanding

Anyone who knew Takeru personally knew that he seemed to have two sides. Iori was probably one of the few who had seen both, and probably the only person who had tried to understand them. Not that Iori prided himself on the latter - the conversation he'd had with Yamato about Takeru's past was slightly unnerving, but it gave him a better view on the blond Chosen.

Iori knew which side of Takeru he preferred. The Takeru that had always considered things before taking risks. The Takeru that worried about how other people felt and was careful with what he said to preserve their feelings. But the other side of Takeru - the one that sometimes made Iori tremble - was beginning to show up more and more, especially now that Black War Greymon had surfaced.

But Iori understood, in a way, why the second side of Takeru was there. Iori couldn't imagine losing Armadimon now that they were a part of each other. They were friends. He understood Iori, and Iori understood him. Watching his Digimon partner die before his eyes - even if he was reborn moments later - would send him into fits. However, it was going to take a lot more understanding of Takeru if Iori hoped to finally become a jogress partner with him. They were going to have to understand each other, from different levels.

Iori would do that. He wanted to help the Digital World in any way possible, and to do that, they needed to stop Black War Greymon. To stop Black War Greymon, they all needed to work together, as a team. And with the other four Chosen and Digimon already paired up to each other, Iori and Armadimon needed to work together with Takeru and Patamon, no matter what.
