BROKEN HEART

A father stared at a note. The parchment was wrinkled, the runes laid on it blurry. Most would disregard it since the town mistake wrote it. Stoick didn't though.

The large man stood unmoving, his eyes building tears. One fell, making the rune, "I don't belong" even harder to read.

More continued falling, Stoick silently suffering. You see because he was the father of the local screw-up, he cared about the note any normal person would burn.

"My son..." he whispered, falling to his knees.

"I... why.." The man hiccuped, reminding him too much of the son he lost. The son he had lost just moments after viewing the letter on his kitchen table.

Stoick began to sob with the force of Thor, shaking the ground he now laid on.

The large man, a chief to all, was breaking. All because, a small boy named Hiccup, wasn't there.
