You can find portals in the oddest of places. In a long forgotten convenience store on the side of the road. Cuddled in the middle of an abandoned corn field. Hunting for unsuspecting victims at the edge of an overgrown forest who's inhabitants might just know more than they're letting on. And even hiding in Severus Snape's chamber pot, as he is about to discover.
Up until now it had been an ordinary day. An exploding cauldron here or there. A first year catching a limb on fire after failing to pay close enough attention to his instructions. A few snide comments from students who didn't think he was paying attention. He had even managed to dock thirty points from Gryffindor, and it was barely noon. However, Severus was never one to be blind to the goings on around him. He could sense trouble coming almost before anyone else could. That was, after all, how he had managed to survive the war. Today, something was certainly out of the ordinary. He just couldn't tell what it was yet. He was trying to figure it out as he made an emergency trip to the bathroom during lunch. He had just pulled down his trousers and was about to sit down when a high pitched, gravelly voice made him snap straight back up again.
"I swear to Merlin, if you sit on me one more time, I am going to bite your dinger off!"
Severus' face flushed white as he frantically pulled his trousers back up, trying to cover himself. His eyes darted around the room, searching for anything out of the ordinary, but nothing seemed out of place. "Show yourself!" He ordered angrily. How dare someone disturb his privacy!
Nothing moved. Everything was silent. Had it just been his imagination? He had always thought those mulling Gryffindors would end up driving him mad. Severus rolled his eyes and sat down on the chamber pot.
"Knobswabbler! That's it! I have had enough!" The voice shrieked.
Severus was about to jump back up when he felt an odd pressure on his rump. The water in the chamber pot churned into a whirlpool. His eyes widened and his heart raced as he felt himself being pulled further down into the pot, bottom first. He yelped in surprise and grabbed on to the nearby sink, but it was already too late. The suction intensified and the chamber pot widened to swallow him whole as he realized what had been lurking in his pot.
"Bloody portals!" Severus cursed as he disappeared into the murky depths.
