Why do bad things always Happen?
It was just an average day in this quaint little mountain town. The recently fallen snow laying perfectly, like a blanket of white over the ground, the birds riding the strong breeze lifting them higher until they were as high as the surrounding mountains… and of course the giant robot battle happening in the middle of the town. Yep, it was just an average day in the quite little town of south park.
School was over so the children were making their way home, our four main characters however were making their way through town to look for something to do. Walking down the high street, passing various familiar faces. Approaching the curb Kyle and Cartman were bickering as always, Stan was trying to calm them down and Kenny was just laughing hysterically. Kenny's current oxygen deprived, drowsy state meant he was unable to see the speeding vehicle heading towards him as he steps off the curb and attempts to cross the road.
Kyle is getting really pissed off with Cartman so he looks away from him.. The only thing he could do to stop himself from leaning forward and head butting him in the nose. Just picturing that lump holding his newly broken nose as blood pores out of it made a sinister smirk creep across his face. It was then he saw the impending doom Kenny was in. It was too late to call Kenny to stop so he did the only thing he could think to do… Kyle ran. As fast as he could he sprinted to the curb, used it as a brace and launched himself into the air just in time to grab Kenny and push both of them out of the path of the van as it sped by.
Stan and Cartman were left at the curb dumbstruck with their mouths hanging wide open, when they were finally able to shake off the amazement of what they had just witnessed they both ran up to the two boys sprawled out in the middle of the road, both with scratches and maybe some bruising from their dynamic, yet uncomfortable landing, but neither dead or dying.
There was a moment of silence as the four recovered from what had just happened, standing there in the middle of the road, uninterested passers-by just walking past the four teens gasping from shock.
Stan was the first to say something, it came out a little gaspy but still to full effect. "Dude, you just SAVED Kenny!".
After a few minutes of quiet contemplation and recovery Stan helped his two friends to their feet and all four moved to the opposite side of the road, back to safety of the curb. It was then a few moments more before Kyle was composed enough to say "I guess I did" looking over at Kenny and giving him a friendly and reassuring smile before putting his hand on his shoulder and changing the smile into a cheeky grin. You couldn't tell but Kenny was also smiling a warm smile underneath his drawn in parker hood.
The four friends then ran off down the road talking of Terrance and Philip episodes and throwing stones at Stark's pond, all the while Kenny was still smiling and thinking to himself, "maybe today's not such a bad day".
