A/N – Hi guys! First story so please be nice! Hope you like it!
I don't own PJO. Rick Riordan does. Sigh.
Calling From Alaska
Sally Jackson looked at the digital clock on the microwave. Midnight. She sighed as she shut down her laptop. She was working on her Greek Mythology story, but it brought her pain to write because it all reminded her of her missing son, Percy.
She walked down the hall and was about to shut off the lights when the phone rang.
I'll just let the answering machine get it, she thought. She regretted that action, however, when she heard the voice.
"Mom"
Her hand froze an inch away from the light switch. Her eyes locked on the phone that was three feet away from her on the small table placed against the wall.
"Hey, I'm alive."
That was her son, Captain Obvious.
"Hera put me to sleep for a while, and then she took my memory, and …"
He paused there. Sally was anxious to hear the rest.
"Anyway, I'm okay. I'm sorry. I'm on a quest-"
I winced. All the dangers of a quest, facing him again. Didn't he do enough? What more could the gods ask from him?
"I'll make it home. I promise."
She always prayed to the gods he would.
"Love you."
He hung up after that.
Sally was still frozen. Oh, gods, she thought. He's alive!
"PAUL!"
