Link007: This poem was originally inspired by the Zelda games, but then I expanded it so that it could apply to more worldly matters, anyway... enjoy. R&R.
Disclaimer: Don't own Zelda, never will, I'm over it.
P.S.: Sorry 'bout the lines, couldn't get the spacer to separate the stanzas accordingly, I'll try to fix it and get back to you with a better version.
P.S.-2: Okay, finally figured out how to fix it. Enjoy.
Reliance
Out
of the Ages the Hero shall come
To
beat back the Darkness plaguing us all.
The
Darkness shall send shadows to halt the Hero's Quest,
Yet
the Hero moves on, shining light on the poor shadows.
The
Hero slices, and dices, and thrashes the Darkness!
The
Darkness recedes, but only for Now.
A
time later in Time It shall rise up again,
At
that time the Hero shan't come.
After
many lifetimes of peace, the Darkness is re-birthed.
We
wait for the Hero.
We
pray for the Hero.
We
search for the Hero.
Yet
the Hero never comes.
The
Hero shall never come again.
And
forever shall that stay…
The
first Hero shan't come, but a new one does arise
A
new Hero comes and beats back the Darkness.
Freeing
us once more from It's cold clutches.
And
then there is peace, but only for Now.
For
the Darkness lives on, and It always shall
The
Darkness comes once more after the second Hero fades.
Still
a third Hero comes and slays the Darkness.
And
this cycle continues for many eons of Time.
Both
the Hero and Darkness taking many different forms:
Males,
Females, Lions, Wolves, Humans, Fish, Birds, and all other shapes and
sizes of the Universe.
They
battle in all ways:
On
the Battlefield, in the Courtroom, in the Ocean, in the Sky, and all
other places known and unknown
Finally
a time comes when the Darkness prevails.
It
defeats the Hero and spreads through the world.
Shall
the Darkness rule all? or will it be defeated once more?
If
we all stand together and oppose the Darkness,
We
shall send it away for many more eons than the Heroes ever did.
For
a single being fought It those countless times, but this time we all
shall fight back.
And
we shall win,
For
united we stand
