Doves and Demons
Summary: Sebastian lost his daemon, his Zuri.
Ciel was silent as he sat in his garden, petting his newly settled black lab Nymphadora while watching Sebastian and his daemon, Nixon.
Sebastian's daemon was always a question in Ciel's mind. One moment the spirit was a sleek, graceful black cat with expressive, caring emerald eyes. The next moment, she could be a noisy and tricky black crow with mischievous onyx eyes. The two were nothing alike and almost nothing like Sebastian. Ciel wondered was they represented if not her master.
"Bocchan?" Ciel started and looked at Sebastian with his, now, cat on his shoulder.
"What is it?" Nymph asked, saving him.
Sebastian gave a fake smile. "You just seemed lost in thought. You should be more careful; you never know who will jump you," he said, mischievously almost, and Nixon changed again.
Ciel stared. "What is she?" he finally asked.
Sebastian paused in surprise before he glanced at the crow on his shoulder. Sebastian regarded her almost curiously. He looked back at his master.
"I'm afraid I'm not sure if a human could understand," Nixon said sincerely.
"Try me," Ciel challenged.
Sebastian tilted his head. "Well, I and my master are connected once a deal is made; my daemon becomes a reflection. I can only assume the crow is a representation of what you once were while the cat is a reflection of what you are or can be," he explained.
Ciel frowned. "Is she even yours?" he asked quietly, gripping Nymphadora's fur.
Sebastian smiled emotionlessly. "My daemon was a black dove," Sebastian turned away. "And she died a long time ago."

Cory, age 12, watched with trepidation as his daemon, Zuri, changed forms quickly to settle. For the last half-four, she'd been switching between a cat, a mouse, and a dove; all black in color. Now she was going between a mouse and dove.
Suddenly, Zuri stopped on the dove. Cory gasped silently, watching as the bird tilted her head.
"Zuri?" Cory asked quietly.
The dove cooed. "I like this one,: she said and flew up to Cory's head. "Do you like it?"
Cory smiled. "You could be a cockroach and I wouldn't love you any less," he assured.
Zuri beamed. "I love you too," she replied.

Cory watched in horror and agony as the daemon-less man, no creature!, grab Zuri. Cory screamed and convulsed as the creature, the demon, began to eat Zuri!
"Zuri!"

The new crow demon was silent as he looked for a new victim; another sacrifice for his survival. A black, shapeless haze was floating over his shoulder.
"All humans have daemons," the haze whispered.
The demon frowned, his eyes glazing over slightly.
'Zuri...'
End.

Those who didn't catch on: Cory is Sebastian-a more human name than his demon name Malphas, and Zuri was his real daemon.

~?~Bonus~?~
Sebastian straddled the dying spider demon, Nixon flying in her crow form around them. Claude's daemon, Alexu in its cobra form watched uncaringly as her master died.
"It would seem... you've won... Crow," Claude whispered, blood dripping down his chin.
Sebastian was silent, staring. "What was she? Really?" he asked quietly; he wanted to know the real Claude.
Claude smiled wistfully. Sebastian was probably the only demon who really cared about the soul he left behind with his human life.
Claude coughed. "A... a lop eared rabbit... her name was... Elea... Eleanor."
Claude was dead and Alexu poofed away without a word. Though Sebastian hated the spider demon known as Claude but, he felt he could have been friends with the boy who had the daemon known as, Eleanor.
