Sam, Astrid, and all the other teens and younguns of the FAYZ have escaped the grasp of the Gaiaphage and Drake. But Astrid keeps seeing a body in her dreams, one that Little Pete has taken over. Astrid doesn't know who it is, and doesn't tell Sam. Astrid goes out on her own, looking for the body in her dreams, but what she finds is much more than she had bargained for.

What if everyone over the age of 15 had just disappeared, along with all the electronics such as TV, internet, and phone services? All of it-Gone. Sam, Astrid, and all the other teens and troubled youths of the FAYZ have escaped, but with a price. Caine, Brianna, and many others have died to save the other kids of the FAYZ. Will their questions be answered? Will they all finally understand?

But Little Pete didn't die when Caine destroyed Gaia. Little Pete survived, but in another's body. Who will it be? Will he be able to answer everyone's questions about who-or what-caused this?

Chapter One: Free

Pete Ellison was free. Free from Astrid, with the striking blonde hair and bright blue eyes. Free from the Gaiaphage, along with all the other kids. Free from his own distorted body, but free from the dream world.

Little Pete was human, but he was also someone else.

'I have taken a body.' Astrid Ellison kept hearing the voice inside of her head. She couldn't sleep because of it. She couldn't focus on the television cameras and newscasters in her face, asking her questions and trying to get more information about the FAYZ and everything that had happened while the adults couldn't see into the blackness and darkness that the Gaiaphage had taken over. Is this what celebrities feel like, Astrid wondered. Always having paparazzi shoved in their faces while they are trying to eat or sleep? Or read or just relax with loved ones? With Sam?

Astrid hadn't told Sam yet of the voice in her head. She had only told him that Little Pete was gone, and he would always be gone. She had told the same things to her mother and father, crying tears of relief when they saw her, crying tears of sadness when they heard of Little Pete's fate.
