Author's Notice~ I don't own Pirates of the Caribbean. I love you Johnny!
Chapter One
"Ma'am? Wake up!"
Victoria woke with a start. She had been having the most wonderful dream. Something about pirates…
"Your father wants you downstairs immediately miss! He has news to tell you!"
"What kind of news," Victoria responded lazily getting out of her bed.
"I don't know! Here," the chambermaid roughly handed her a dress, "Wear this."
"But-"
"Ten minutes!"
Victoria, fairly young and quite arrogant, began to dress slowly. She was sure this "important news" was nothing more than him telling her he had found another suitor.
"Hurry miss!"
Barley one minute to spare, Victoria was dressed, and, to her dismay, pushed out of the room.
"Just get down there and I will take care of this."
The chambermaid pointed to the bed and shut the door with a snap.
"Grouchy old hag…"
Down numerous flights of staircases, Victoria finally made it to her fathers work room. Around five guards parted to let her inside. The quarter was rather large. Complete with gold moldings, paintings of former kings, deep purple curtains over the large window, and other things. Victoria cleared her throat politely to alert her presence.
"Ah, Victoria. Just in time."
Her father, King George II, was a generous man, with a gray wig and a kind face.
"You called for me father?"
"Yes! I have some matters to express with you. Sit please."
As Victoria took a seat, George waved his hand to the man standing in the corner, queuing him to depart.
"You know of Port Royal dear?"
"Yes. That island in the… Caribbean I think?"
"And you also know of Governor Swann?"
"Elizabeth, his daughter, yes. We are good friends."
The king let a smile on his face before continuing. Victoria, hopping she knew where this conversation was going, moved to the edge of the seat.
"I was wondering how you would like to accompany me there for a while? See the progress."
Victoria couldn't contain her excitement, as she bounded up and ran over, smothering her father in a hug.
"I'd love to!"
George laughed and nodded in agreement. Victoria let go.
"Now, we must get ready. The ship leaves in two days. I'll have your chambermaid pack some things for you."
Victoria agreed and bounded out the door, signaling for the man to come back in. She ran back up to her room. The maid was just finishing making the bed. Nothing could ruin Victoria's high spirits. Not ever the grouchy witch, who screamed as Victoria jumped on the freshly made sheets.
"Get off miss!"
"Why should I?"
"Wh-"
"Just kidding! Oh I love you. You should know that!"
Victoria bounded off and kissed her on the cheek, snickering at the look on her face.
"Has my father told you the news?"
"No. Not yet. What happened?"
"We are going to Port Royal."
The chambermaid dropped the china she was holding, which fell to the floor with a tiny crash.
"What was that for?"
"Sorry miss. Terribly sorry. It's just that…"
"What?"
"Nothing. Why don't you go eat breakfast. I'll clean this up."
"Well, after you do, you are to pack me a suitcase for the trip."
"Of course."
Victoria again left the room, in less spirits than a few minutes ago.
'What was that scene all about?' she thought, heading down to the dinning hall.
