Pansy Parkinson knew her future wasn't bright, she had no delusions, she knew it wouldn't get better.
She would marry a rich pure blood, one that wasn't Draco Malfoy, because Malfoys were arrogant and only wanted the best, and Pansy was average.
Her marriage would likely be arranged by her father, and her mother would cheer her up before the wedding, because that's what her grandmother did on her mother's wedding. That is, if her mother wasn't killed before that ever happened. Because her mother was an average witch, disposable and an easy target. Nevertheless her mother was an average witch, one everybody overlooked, one nobody expected anything.
That's how her grandmother only died nearing a century old of natural causes, whereas her grandfather disappeared mysteriously not long before the first war officially broke out. That's how her mother was perfectly well in their Manor being a normal housewife, whereas her father came back home at odd hours, ofter injured or still displaying the side effects of the Cruciatus.
Pansy wasn't stupid, she knew her father was a Death Eater, she also knew she had little chance of not marrying one, so, everyday, she made sure to be her mother's mirror image.
She never did anything that was unexpected, because it would gather attention from bother sides, and she didn't want the Dark's attention.
She was average, never had a grade higher than E, but only on Charms, because Charms was a 'soft subject', so it was expected.
She was the mean girl, because that's what it was expected of the spoiled daughter of a known Dark family.
She exaggerated on her make up, purposefully erasing the little natural beauty she had, because beauty meant attention. Attention Pansy didn't want.
Pansy Parkinson was utterly unremarkable, but, as she stood in the Malfoy Manor with her head bowed in respect, and shaking hands clenched tightly, and the Dark Lord barely glanced at her direction, she was thankful.
Her future wasn't bright, she was perfectly aware of that, but she would always be thankful she had a future in the first place.
honestly i have no idea where did this come from but i had to write it.i think this is mostly because the canon pansy is so 2D and we dont really see much of her besides when she is being a female dog ya know?i guess i just cant see what got her sorted into slytherin in canon, so i wrote her as focusing on self-preservation (that is a slytherin trait right? the internet said so) the whole time, so it mades how we see her in canon kinda understandable, not excusable but understandable.also, this is a Voldemortwins!au years after hogwarts i just didnt really made it obvious, im rlly just saying it isnt canon because of the ending as why would voldie recruit teenagers?? (draco doesnt count cus im pretty sure he was supposed to fail)
