Remembrance

D/c: I don't own Tithe or its characters.

Roiben gasped harshly as Talathains mouth found it's wait to his collar bone.

A sigh.

A moan.

The only responses he could manage in the presence of his lover.

Yet now, as he stood against him, protecting a kingdom he never wanted, the same feelings clawed their way up his throat as Talathain lunged towards him, spear held firmly.

Roiben wanted to protect himself, but to do so, he must harm Talathain.

That, he could not do.

It seemed time moved slowly. He dropped his sword and held his arms outwards in acceptance. He dimly heard Kaye's horrified shriek as Talathain's spear pierced him. The horrified expression on the golden-haired faeries face was almost a comfort to Roiben as a scream of pain left him. It was his dying moment. He was allowed to be weak.

He fell to his knees as the spear clattered to the floor. Blood spewed from his mouth. Covering the dirt floor. His dime-silver hair fell around his shoulders, shielding the horrible pained expression on his face from his former lover, and his current one. A bitter laugh burst forth from his lips, followed b a pained grimace as he fell to his side.

Roiben lay in silence, his ashen eyes slowly closing. He could feel Kaye's tears falling on him as she tried to stem the bleeding. She was begging him not to leave her.

But his eyes strayed to those of Talathain as his vision blurred. A lone tear escaped the golden eyes of his lover. A small smile found its way to Roibens mouth as, with a last shuddering breath, he reached his hand towards his former lover, and his killer.

A shrill scream of anguish alerted the Unseelie Court of the happenings.

Rath Roiben Rye was no more.
