DM An Evening With Antonio
Gru was in the panic of finding a babysitter. He and Lucy were going to a meeting for grownups. ''I know'' Lucy said, ''What about Antonio?''. ''The son of El Macho?'' Gru said not sure about the idea. Edith looked up from her book ''Flat Stanley The Japanese Ninja Surprise''. ''It's ok'' she said, ''I can manage with just Agnes''. Margo was at a sleepover with Avery so expect from Dr. Nefario from the lab or the minions.
She and Agnes would have the house to themselves. ''Don't be silly Edith'' Lucy frowned, ''We can't leave you with Agnes''. ''Why not?'' Edith asked. ''Well it wouldn't be safe'' Lucy replied, ''What if something happened?''. ''You nearly burned down de lab once'' Gru added, ''I don't want you to do something like that while we're gone''.
''I'll call Antonio's family'' Lucy finished, ''It's worth a try''. Five minutes later she said, ''It's all arranged'' Lucy told her husband, ''Antonio's on his way''. ''Can I be the first to say eww?'' Edith muttered remembering this was the boy who Margo had encountered in Paradise Mall. But Gru sternly hushed her. Lucy heard the doorbell go and went to answer.
''Ah hello Antonio'' she said ,welcomingly ''how are you?, The girls are looking forward to meeting you''. Antonio strode into the living room. He looked as cool as ever. 'This', Edith thought 'was going to be the worst babysitter ever. ''We'd better get going'' Gru said ''Be good girls especially you Edith''. The door closed, Edith and Agnes were alone with Antonio.
Edith went off to practise her ninja skills. Agnes played a game with Antonio, and he told her all about his encounter with Margo. When they had finished Antonio dropped off. Edith came back, whispered something to Agnes, and they headed off for the kitchen. There Edith led Agnes to the goodies cupboard where the forbidden treats were stored.
Gru and Lucy were wary of Edith in particular when it came to that cupboard because she was known to pig out on goodies. But still, Edith thought, it wouldn't hurt to have anything little and her parents would never find out. ''Here are the crisps'' Agnes said pointing. 'yummy'' Edith said pulling some out. They gathered some other goodies as well, then headed off to enjoy their feast.
The floor was soon littered with packets and wrappers. Edith suggested they had a pillow fight [there were cushions as well] and soon she and Agnes were bashing each other. feathers went everywhere!. Antonio was so fast asleep he hadn't heard anything. Suddenly Agnes shouted, ''Look at the time!''. Edith glanced at the clock. Gru and Lucy would be back soon.
Edith quickly grabbed the shrink ray and shrunk all the mess. she stuffed the lot into the bin, then put the shrink ray back. Then she and Agnes quickly brushed their teeth, put on their pyjamas and got into bed. From downstairs there were voices. ''It's very quiet in here'' Lucy said. ''Antonio we're back'' Gru calle, ''Were the girls good? is everything alright?''.
''No problems senor'' Antonio yawned. Upstairs Edith listened with her heart pounding . It had been close, but at least they had got away with it.
