No one could've guessed it, but Max Tate, the ever-go-lucky blonde isn't as happy-go-lucky as everyone thought… No, he was crushed after learning that Kai Hiwatari, his first and only crush had killed himself.
He had cried in the eternal darkness of his room, wailed until he could no longer, shed tears until there were no more. He was now on the same rooftop as his crush, staring at the place his leader was found. The other thing every one had found strange when they found him, was the fiery red feather in Kai's hand. Max stared at the burns at his hand. He had tried to take the feather, and felt it. No one is to mess with the spirit of the phoenix, or the soul of Kai, and Max knew…
Max' eyes began to tear again as he thought of the pained face he had seen, the sad song that sounded so magical as The Blade breakers had gathered around the dead corps.
Rain began to drip as Max glanced at his hand. A silver dagger with a sapphire gem engraved into it lay there. He was going to end it all. Raising the dagger to strike, Max suddenly stopped. His eyes grew wide.
"K-K-Kai?" he stammered.
The dagger fell on the floor. An image of Kai stood right in front of him, empty eyes staring in front of him. Staring, not seeing.
"The Phoenix will never die." He suddenly said.
Kai turned to Max as his eyes began to burn with passion like hell itself. And then, he was gone.
Max rubbed his eyes.
"Kai? Oh."
He bend and picked up a feather that was red, blended with blue. A safe feeling spread over him and Max smiled. He picked up the knife, before throwing it as far away as he could.
Max stared up ant the sky, and whispered;
"The phoenix will never die… And neither will the turtle.."
