Summery: End of volume 4 after Zero goes to sleep. Zero dreams of Yuki, he can't watch it, he realizes after he wakes up just how much she has done for him, will feelings he thought he could never have awaken? What are these Unknown things that are beating against what is left of his heart? Will he realize this before it's too late?

Unknown Feelings Awaken

Zero couldn't watch this, he knew what was left of his heart couldn't take this. Watching Yuki letting herself be bitten by a pureblood knowing what would happen, he couldn't watch her give up her human life just for him to be saved. It was just too much he had to protect her, not because Kuran told him to be her shield, but because he cared for her.

Zero threw himself forward to protect her and he woke up, it took him a few minutes to gather himself, to breath right again. Finally he got control of his body and was breathing right again and steady.

Did in the dream…did he saw he cared for her? He shook his head; it wasn't that detail that surprised and shocked him the most it was he just now realized it. How many years had she been by his side? Did he just say it earlier that night, the only reason he survived this long was because she was by his side?

How long had she cared for him like this, protecting him instead of him protecting her like he was suppose to? How long had she been trying to protect him but he just wouldn't let her in? That was the point she had protected him, but some things the things that matter to her, the things she really wanted to protect him from he wouldn't let her that far. She even let herself be…drained of blood, every time he needed it. She let him drink from her, and it wasn't just her, it wasn't because she forced him he wanted to deep down inside of him, but he even drunk from her more then one more then one occasion and damnit if she was going to let him do it again, did she not say she was going to tame that beast again and again to just keep him alive and with her?

How come he just realized all of this now? How many years had they been together, so close and he never realized anything? It had to have been a couple of years, three four years? How come it took him that long to realize that he loved her?

He knew it was because these feelings were unknown to him, when they first started coming alive, awakening inside of him, he didn't know or recognize them so how could he have known that he cared for her? Loved her so much, why did it take her nearly being taken away from him for him to realize this? That was how he broke that bitch's spell over him, because he didn't want her to take something else away that he cared for deeply.

But he did know about them now and the only thing he could do was keep them hidden, not bury them but they couldn't be so close to the surface where they could accidentally get out that was the last thing he wanted or need right now. No one could know he loved her, especially Kuran, because in the end they would fight and Yuki would be so sad, that was something he decided he wasn't going to do anymore was cause her pain.

If the feelings did get out how much danger would she be in? He couldn't protect her then, if that vampire bitch knew she would kill Yuki and he couldn't let her die, he would never let her kill Yuki, she would have to kill him first. But if someone else did hurt her, anyone at all because he loved her Kuran would kill him, but Yuki…he could never endure her pain how would she see him? He knew one thing was certain; these unknown feelings that had awakened would stay hidden no matter what he had to do.
