Hey, I'm Tamara. This is my first fanfiction, so I appreciate tips on writing! Thanks!

Disclaimer; I do not own the Twilight Saga, nor am I making money from this. The Twilight Saga belongs to Stephanie Meyer, and I am just borrowing her characters. This is just a follow-up on Alexus's human life, and why she was changed. It should be read.

My mother had a small smile on her face, happy with what I was wearing.

"Oh, Alexus, Hunny! You look absolutely devine!" Said my mother as she hugged me. I fought back a growl and hugged her back tightly, hiding a scowl. How could she think that my clothes were divine? Most kids at my school had much prettier clothes.

"Oh, thank you, Mama." I smiled at her, hoping that I wasn't showing any distaste.

"I'll be right back, honny" Said my mom as she got up and left quickly. I sighed. I didn't want to hurt her, but these were ugly. I looked at myself in the mirror. My mother had curled my long brown hair, which made it look short. I had a pink faded dress on with many layers, then my stockings. They had a small rip in them, but my mother said they didn't matter.

There was no way I was going in these. I looked back, then without thinking, I jumped. From a two-story window. Into a shrub. I let out a small squeak, but ran into the woods which were right behind my house. (A/N: In the time I'm writing around-Which is around the time Edward had just changed- the parents only cared about family. The kids only cared about getting things, and unfortunately so does our little Alexus. If she doesn't get what she wants, she runs away all the time like this. So carry on!) My eyes were watery as I ran into the woods which were behind my house, holding up my pathetic dress.

It was freezing out, the clouds covering the sky. My feet padded against the soft terrain, as I kept glancing back to see if they had sent daddy's animals after me yet.

I saw a flash of bronze. Was it my imagination? No. It was hair. I saw it. Before I had time to scream, some thing flung me to the ground. I whimpered, looking up into the eyes of a beautiful young man. She reconized him. "E-edward Mason?" My voice cracked. He froze.

"Yes." He said with a pained velvet voice. "Shit.. Lexi, I should have reconized you..." He whispered, "But now since you know what I am.. I have to kill you."

I looked up at him in fright. "No! I-I can't die! Edward, I know your a vampire! Just - Don't kill me. Please." I whimpered yet again, staring into what use to be his green eyes.

He stiffed. "You're bleeding."

I blinked, staring at him in bewilderment. "Oh, um, yeah.." I said, "I-erm- jumped out a window." That made me blush.

He started shaking. "I'm so sorry, Lexi." And it happened. He leaned in, first sliding his tongue against a vain in my neck, then, he sunk his teeth into it. My eyes fluttered as he took away my blood. Once satisfied, he dropped me. Pain hit me like a ton of bricks, and everything went black. Including him.

The last words I heard were, "You'll be a vampire when you wake up."
