AN: This is the result of a drunken conversation with a friend over, as the title suggests, the taste of blue and the sound of chocolate; Are 'Quickenings' / 'Buzzes' unique? Can you tell friend from foe? A brief paragraph from another story I'm currently writing, so feel free to ignore the unknown names!
More people arrived and Catherine's absence went unnoticed for a few minutes for with the comings and goings of so many immortals the buzz of so many Quickenings was almost unbearable.
Familiar ones were like old songs, ones that reminded you of happier times, happier places.
She felt Hannah's bright new one next to her; it was fresh like spring flowers, it had a pink tinge which reminded her of the cute Japanese animations she was so fond of. Amanda's was red, fiery red and smelt of Chanel and sparkled like diamond. Duncan's was solid like wood but smelt like fresh rain and was as warm as wool tartan blanket. Methos' had no smell or sound, but was black like a cloak that covered you in a wave and tasted of bitter orange chocolate.
She could only guess what hers felt like to others. Catherine returned and with it her buzz as strong and agile as an eagle with a cool caress of Cornish ice cream on the tongue.
