Hey, look, it's a crack!Pairing. So, this is my first FFVII fic...I've only seen AC, I'm still dying very easily in Dirge of Cerberus (I haven't even gotten out of the first city yet...;3;), so if this seems OOC in any way at all, I'm really sorry about this. Please forgive an FFVII newbie.

Disclaimer: Had I owned FFVII, there would be so much yaoi in there that your head would explode from the awesomeness of it all.
Pairing: Rude/Cloud
Prompt: Door
Rating: G

Final words (for now): All hail the pairing generator. #hails#

They say that the eyes are the windows to the soul. For some people, that's true. When you look in their eyes, you can see whether they're happy, sad, if they're being mischievous, or if you should get the heck out of the room so you don't get your head ripped off. For others, though, the eyes weren't windows--they were doors, closing off their emotions to others unless it was absolutely necessary. Rude was one of those door-eyed people, though it was mostly because he used sunglasses. Still, if he took off his sunglasses, he would most likely have door-eyes.

Cloud Strife was also a door-eyed person, more so than Rude. He looked bored most of the time, barely letting anyone see any sort of emotion out of him other than neutrality. Cloud was a hard one to figure out--even if he really liked something, he would act indifferent, and his eyes wouldn't betray him. Many had tried to solve the enigma that was Cloud Strife; few had managed to actually do it.

Reno, for the heck of it, had tried to get some sort of emotion out of Cloud, preferably happiness; all he ended up getting was a dunking in the pond at the church. Still, he persisted, and usually dragged along Rude for the ride. Rude didn't mind this; it gave him some time away from the office, and a chance to study Cloud, possibly find out what could get him to show emotion. He didn't expect to actually do anything about it. Maybe he'd tell Reno, maybe not; most likely, though, it would be the former. He wouldn't be surprised if Reno actually found a way to evoke some emotion from Cloud.

That was why he--and Reno, Tifa, Denzel, and Marlene--were surprised when, one day, he suddenly stood up, walked over to Cloud, and kissed him. After the kiss, while he grabbed both of Cloud's hands in his own and looked down at the shorter male with a smile, he asked if he'd like to go on a date with him. All of them--Rude especially--were surprised when Cloud returned the smile and said that yes, he'd love to go on a date with him, as long as an annoying red-haired monkey was forbidden to follow them around.

From then on, Cloud and Rude became window-eyed people--but only around each other, of course.

Short, sweet, and cheesy...three words that perfectly describe the fic and me, minus-ing the "sweet" part and replacing it with "psychotic nut-job" in my case.

Review or I'll sick Sephiroth on you...as soon as I can figure out how to bring him back from the dead without him becoming some sort of zombie...
