Lord Azar gazed at the half-demon girl that a normal woman had just given birth to. He wondered what harm it could do to let her live. He knew that if he did, the world would be at stake. Finally he decided to let her live. He asked Arella (her mother) what her name was. She simply said "Rachel." He knew that if she was to live, she would have to be taken away and trained to control her powers. Arella sensed that there was something wrong then immediately knew. He said that if she loved the child, she would let her go. It was the only way to protect her from Trigon.
Garfield always thought that he would never fit in. His father and mother were both scientists. At the moment, they were studying a rare, mutated snake. Garfield was ten years old. One day when his parents weren't looking the snake broke out of its cage. By the time his parents saw, the snake already had its jaws on Garfield. After several tests, his parents had figured out that Garfield was mutated with animal DNA; he could change into any animal he wanted.
Victor was the star of the football team. After practice he would always go to his father's science lab. One day while working in the lab there was a malfunction with one of the machines and it blew the entire STAR Labs to pieces and Victor and his father were the only ones to survive. His father had to give Victor robotic body parts. He would also be able to use them as weapons. From that day on he could never go back school in fear of being a freak.
Gombak (later to be known as Starfire) was a Tamaranian princess and a prisoner of war against the Klingon. While being held in a Klingon Bird Of Prey, she had to watch her planet get blown to pieces. Then she was barbarically thrown into space. After that she flew to Earth seeking refuge, but was unknowingly followed by the Klingons.
Dick was a good kid. Raised by Bruce Wayne, he started out good. He started being Robin at about age 10. But when he turned 16 he started using marijuana. One day he got into a huge and violent fight with Batman, and ran away. Seeking to redeem himself, he went to Jump City to fight crime on his own.
