Rapunzel had lost it.
All these months being bright and positive, smiling through the danger, the threats, the insults, the fear, the near death moments, -all in the goal of solving the mystery of the black rocks!
Well, she didn't give a dam anymore. Not about the black rocks, the plan, the end dream, nothing. What the hell was the point?
"That's it! I've had it! All this time we've been travelling, facing dangers of all kinds of crazy to save this kingdom from the black rocks and all this time not one person we've met has even cared! I've had it with the lies, the threats, the insults and nearly dying every day. Someone else can be the kingdom's saviour."
Eyes blazing with defeat, anger and unshed tears Rapunzel stood determined.
"Because this princess quits."
In the wake of her very warranted outburst no one knew what to say. Many felt very much the same way. Eugene stepped forward his hand outstretched for the one he loved, his heart breaking for the pain and anger he saw in her eyes. His love made him long to comfort her but she took a step back. A symbol of her withdrawal from the fight, from him.
"No Eugene." She snapped. Started he gasped in surprise.
Then watched helplessly as she turned, flicked that gorgeous 70 feet of blonde hair over her shoulder, and walked off.
All this time they'd claimed to be supporting her and really they hadn't been supporting her at all. She'd beared the weight of this whole kingdom upon her shoulders. A lesser human being would have crumbled before now. He knew he surely would have.
He'd never cared for anyone but himself until he met Rapunzel and now he'd taken her for granted and worse still had left her to suffer alone.
As they watched her walk away indecision, uncertainty plagued him.
Should he go after her? Should he stay?
What was anyone to do when the one you loved could take no more pain?
