The Other Jamie
Landon Carter looked into the face of his newborn daughter. He had thought he would never find love again but he had. He hadnt thought his heart could open to another woman but it had. He had found this love with the help of an angel. Her name was Jamie. His innocent first love. He felt his eyes well up with tears as he looked at his daughter and secretly wished he was sharing this moment with Jamie. His wife Amanda lay in the bed next to him he looked at her slightly damp hair and the tired exspression on her face. She had just given birth to there daughter Jamie Elizabeth. She had no clue about why Landon was so admandant to naming there daughter Jamie Elizabeth.
Landon hated hospitals he had been to enough of them with Jamie. Jamie had been his first love she was taken away prematurly by an awful disease called lukemia just thinking of the word gave him chills. He remembered that summer like it had just happend, he saw himself rehearsing lines with Jamie, looking at the stars, and finally his world had ended when his beautiful Angel had died. The baby stirred and he looked into her beautiful tiny face she opened her eyes for the first time and looked up at him he lost all composure and began to cry. He got up kissed the baby and his wife goodbye and walked to his car.
He turned on the radio and began to drive he didnt know where he was going but he drove untill he was in front of a cemetary, the cemetary where his angel was laid to rest. He got out of the car and walked to Jamie's grave, he knelt to his knees and kissed the stone as he had so many times before. He began to talk to Jamie, he felt a warmth all around his body as if she were wrapping her arms around him. He relaxed and closed his eyes. He heard a sweet voice calling "Landon, Landon" He opend his eyes and before him stood his Jamie her hair beautiful and shiny as always dressed in a beautiful blue dress.
He had never seen that dress before, maybe she got it in heaven he found himself wondering. She called again. He smiled and said "what my dear" She replied"I saw you and your new daughter I wish I had given her to you." He smiled "it's okay she's named after you" Jamie smiled and said "I know, Landon I am so happy for you and Amanda i'm glad you found happiness once again Darling, I have to go back now Landon I'll see you in your dreams." With that Jamie was gone.
Landon kissed the head stone once more and walked away the autumn leaves crunching under his feet. He drove back to the hospital and told Amanda he needed to talk to her, he told her the whole story when he was though Amanda's eyes welled up with tears and she kissed him. The next day Baby Jamie and Amanda got to go home.
It's been five years now and Landon tells little Jamie about her namesake. She always asks Landon if the other Jamie is her gaurdian angel. Landon smiles gives a little nod at heaven and tells Jamie that the other Jamie is watching over her.
