Parents crowd around to praise Brendan and Ste on their cakes and the children.
"Mate you should open a bakery or something those cakes were the best I've ever had. I ate like 3" Some guy says slapping Ste on the shoulder
"I ate 6" a voice says from within the crowd
The bell goes and Leah and Lucas run out and jump into their dads arms. Brendan and Ste say goodbye to all the parents and carry Leah and Lucas home.
*Back home*
"Nice to see the cakes went down a treat" Ste says hanging the kids bags up
"Yeah we make a pretty good team don't we Steven?"
"Course we do"
"How about it then?"
"How about what?" Ste says starting the dishes.
"Us. Running a bakery"
"Oh Brendan, that requires a LOT of money"
"I got money and I can always quit my job"
"Yeah speaking of which you still haven't told me about this job that you never seem to be at"
"Well Steven, if I told ye, I'd have to kill ye" he says with a grin
Ste rolls his eyes at his fiancé and smiles back at him.
"If I can sort it Steven will ye run a bakery with me?"
"Yeah. Alright!"
"That's that sorted then" he says as if it's the easiest thing in the world but he's Brendan Brady. He can make anything happen.
*The next day Brendan's suited up and he creeps off early morning, leaving Ste a note that says 'Gone looking for bakery love ya X' Ste reads the note as the kids eat breakfast. It's a Saturday so he has the day with the kids*
"Where's daddy Brendan?" Leah asks with milk slurp down her chin
"He's gone out sweetheart" Ste says wiping up the milk.
Once the kids have breakfast they sit down and watch some cartoons whilst Ste tidies up.
Brendan returns early afternoon with lunch for everyone. His sleeves rolled up and he has a big grin on his face.
"I did it"
"Did what?" Ste says sipping at a coffee
"I bought us a place and we're going to turn it into a bakery"
"You're kidding me?"
"Nope. I'm serious Steven. I want to make you happy and I know you've been wanting a job you love for as long as we've known each other and well you're happy baking with me aren't you?"
"Of course!"
"And we made hundreds of cakes and everyone loved them"
"So this is real?"
"Yeah. We just need to turn it into the actual bakery then I can quit my job. To be honest it was all getting a bit much."
"What is you're job?" Ste says not giving up
"I'm a porn star Steven" Brendan says with a straight face
"Give over. I mean yeah sure you got the package and can fuck like a porn star but you're kidding aren't you?"
"No, why don't you think I ever talk about it?"
"You're having me on… aren't you?"
"Nope. Being totally serious. They call me the nine inch wonder"
"Well I'd agree with the name but you are joking aren't you?!"
"Of course I'm joking Steven!"
Ste exhales deep with relief. "You nearly got me believing it then Brendan"
Brendan smiles and shakes his head fondly. "I suppose we'll have to test more cakes before we open up eh?"
"Yep"
"You be chief cake maker yeah?"
"So long as you'll be my chief decorator"
"Naturally"
*The next day and Brendan takes Ste and the kids to see the soon to be bakery*
"It's messy!" Leah says
"And it makes me sneeze!" Lucas says sneezing
"Well kids it's going to need some work but soon it'll be our bakery and daddy and I will be working here serving our yummy cakes to everyone"
"oooh yay!" Leah says jumping up and down
"Will you make gingerbread men?"
"and women!"
"Yes, of course"
Once they're done in the bakery they head to the park for a nice picnic in the sun.
