Blaine pulled into the driveway after his final class of his college career. School was wrapping up and everything would be changing soon, with the exception of his one constant of the past five years. His love for the boy that opened his eyes by serenading a dead bird. Very awkward time to realize one`s feelings, but Blaine would never regret Kurt finally making it painfully obvious that they should be together.
The curly haired boy cut the engine but continued sitting in the car as the wipers worked furiously against the falling rain. He was about to get out of the car when he heard it. The song that would forever remind him of Kurt, though he hadn`t heard it in years.
Before you met me, I was alright but things were kinda heavy. You brought me to life. Now every February, you`ll be my Valentine, Valentine.
He had performed that song the day he met Kurt. It had taken a while for Kurt to admit that he had been completely smitten from that moment. With a smile at the memory, Blaine got out of the car and ran for the house, shaking the water off like a puppy once inside the door.
After looking all around downstairs, Blaine tread up to the next floor and to the bedroom to find his boyfriend lying across the bed watching some fashion show. All the lights were off and the windows were cracked just enough to cause the curtains to flutter helplessly. This was the light-haired boy`s favourite way to keep the room in this weather. "The sound, smell, and feel of rain with having to get wet," Kurt would always say.
Blaine quietly plopped down next to Kurt and snuggled against his side. With a chuckle, Kurt flipped off the television and they just basked in each other's presence, not a word said to one another. Kurt had nearly fallen asleep when Blaine spoke up. "We do have reservations tonight, sweetheart," Blaine whispered. Kurt groaned but got up, not wanting to give up the opportunity to go out with Blaine without having to deal with friends.
Before leaving, Kurt made Blaine unlock the car so as to limit the amount of time his hair and designer apparel would be exposed to the rain. Blaine, of course, obliged. However, after the more petite of the men ran out into the rain, he locked it again. "Open this door now!" Kurt spat, spinning wildly with fury—to find Blaine kneeling. "Wh-"
"Kurt Hummel, things are changing all around us. But I know one thing that is never going to change. I love you, Kurt, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Will you marry me?" He looked up from the ground, hopefully, and waited for a response from the shocked boy.
After nearly a minute, Blaine spoke again while standing up. "Look, we can just go to dinner if you want. Or you can go back in if you want to change your clothes and fix your hair from the rain…"
"Blaine Anderson, for once in my life, I could not care less about my hair or my clothes." Kurt grabbed Blaine`s face and kissed him passionately, no longer caring about how wet he was. Blaine kissed back then proceeded to lift Kurt off his feet and carry him back into the house. "Y`know," Kurt started, "Who needs to go out? I would much rather stay here with my fiancee," he said, pulling Blaine back into the bedroom and slamming the door behind them.
