On Gale and Mitches wedding day, out by the creek Dawson had just told her to go to Pacey. Had she heard him right? did he just tell her to go to Pacey? She couldn't leave Dawson just like that, but her heart told her to go and she knew deep down inside thats where she wanted to be. So she ran, she ran to the guy she loved, she ran to Pacey. But it was to late she reached the docks just in time to see Pacey pull out with True Love. She tried to call out to him but she knew he couldn't hear her. She had come to late.
3 Monts Later
Joey woke up to the scent of pancakes being made downstairs. As she got up she realized that today was the day that he was suppose to come back, the day that he was suppose to return back home to capside.
"Jo" Bessie called "Jen is waiting downstairs for you"
"Coming" Joey replied.
She quickly pulled on some jeans, threw on a shirt and ran a brush threw her hair and ran downstairs. As she reached the bottom of the stairs she saw her friend Jen playing with Alex. Jen looked up and saw her.
"Joey everyone is heading to the beach tonight sort of like a one last night at freedon before school starts again party, and the whole group is going me, Jack, Andie and even Dawson is going to be there so im not going to take no for an answer you are coming!"
The idea of going to the beach with all her friends actually seemed like a good way to escape reality for the night, so she agreed.
During the day she helped Bessie at the inn and later that evening started to get ready, she pulled on some cream colored shirts, a red tank top and pulled her hair up into a ponytail and put on a bit of makeup. She finished just in time to hear Dawson honking the horn in front of her house, she ran down the stairs out the front door and hopped into the car. All five of them headed to the beach.
When they arrived the beach was full of thier school friends drinking, dancing swimmin and all kinds of other things. They found a spot on the beach and laid down thier blanket. They all sat thier talking laughing and joking about that summer. It was almost like old times but the group was missing one person. As much as Joey tried not to think of him the more she did. Pretty soon Andie jumped up "Well the water looks great and im going to go for a swim, anyone want to join me"
"I do" Jen said.
Then Jack got up to go and talk with some of the guys from the football team. So it was just Dawson and Joey by themselves, the did things in the summer but mever just the two of them they were always with the group. There was an awkward silence between them, finally Dawson spoke "Joey you have been acting distant all night, whats on your mind?"
Joey didnt want to answer that question truthfully so instead she just replied with "actually i was just thinking about how thirsty i am, im going to go get something to drink can i get you anything?"
"Sure a coke is fine thanks"
Joey got up and walked towards the drinks when she spotted him, he looked the same, no he looked better then the last time she saw him. He turned and noticed her staring at him. Pacey walked to towards her "hey Potter" he casually said.
Hey Potter? thats all he had to say after three moths of not seeing her. It wasnt his fault though he thought she had choosen Dawson, he never knew that she tried to run after him but came to late. She had to tell him he was the one, that she loved him, she needed to think of something to say. "Hi Pace, how was your trip?" Oh my god why couldnt she just tell him how she felt all she had to say was i love you pacey and she couldnt do it cause she knew it was to late.
