Hey there!
This is not exactly a fanfiction but an original poem inspired by multiple works of one of my favorite authors: Neil Gaiman. The original works I reference belong to him (and Terry Pratchett). Thanks for reading!
Worlds Within Worlds
Inspired by the works of Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett
Of Preludes and Nocturnes
Talking cats and lovers spurned
While we fragile dreamers yearn
For forever and ever after
Through a crack in the wall
Or a mirror that falls
Or a door that nobody sees
Lies the spider's key
In the fey forest, the wise do not tread
Among the graves of the friendly dead
Old gods die and new gods rise
Beware there always is a price
Islington awaits below Down Street
And Death opens her arms for thee
While serpent and angel with fiery sword
Await the coming of their lord
And who art thou among these glories?
A teller of some old ghost stories?
A child more than what they seem?
A tired man afraid to dream?
In the world of man where is magic?
Should waking up feel so tragic?
For in the shadows and echoes lie
The terrible All-Father's missing eye
Of Preludes and Nocturnes
Talking cats and lovers spurned
While we fragile dreamers yearn
For forever and ever after
