Author's Note: Hello! I'm back, and this time it's with something completely new. This is my first official foray into HPfic. This is not, however, the first HPfic I thought I'd be putting up here. I have another that I've been working on that I thought would have that label. Once again, my Muse has proven me wrong, and I'm okay with that. Anyway, so this little one-shot is a drabble-ish type thing. It came to me rather suddenly after seeing a picture on Tumblr with some quotes from Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland. I found them to be quite poignant and ended up having a very emotional response. The following is the product of that response. It's quick and dirty. It's choppy. It's supposed to be.
Not beta'd so any mistakes are my own.

One Second
Alice: "How long is forever?
The White Rabbit: "Sometimes, just one second."
Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland

.
His onyx eyes glittered down at her brown ones.
For a moment—just one second—she saw and felt everything.
Every little bit of forever that they had lived in the last few months.
She felt it stab her heart, and it was suddenly hard to breathe.
The pain.
The fear.
The love.
The anger.
The betrayal.
All the emotions fueled the memories and caused them to fly forward to the front of her mind.
Scenes from a life she was no longer allowed to live.
A life that had been ripped from her fingertips with no explanation.
No goodbye.
Just gone.
But the memories remained.
He couldn't take those away.
So she dove into them with relish.
His hooked nose dragging along her jawline, leading him to that spot behind her ear that would cause her body to arch just so.
His end-of-the-day scruff rasping against her silky smooth skin, burning the feel of him into her.
His warm tongue laving its way along her pulse points.
His calloused hands smoothing up her ribcage to cup her breasts, his fingers doing delicious things to her oh-so-sensitive nipples.
His body fitting into the cradle of her hips like only he was made to be there—a perfect puzzle piece to fill and complete only her.
Over.
And over.
And over again.
In a second—a moment of forever—it was all there.
In her mind.
In his eyes.
Until he blinked those glittering, onyx eyes.
And then it was ripped away all over again.
