The landsmeet stood in silence as Loghain knelt defeated before The Warden. "Please…" Loghain pleaded out of breath. "I beg you. I do not wish Anora to see my death." The Warden nodded and turned to Sten and Zevran who were still standing back with the rest of the crowd. "Take him to camp, I will deal with him when I get there." Loghain stood with his back to Anora who reached out for her father. Before Anora could speak another voice broke out over the whispers, "Wait!" Riordan stepped forward. "Why don't we let him go through the joining? Our numbers are few enough as it is. Loghain could help us."

"There's no way-" The Warden put up his slender hand and Alistair stopped mid sentence eager to hear what he had decided. His voice was calm and firm, "No. Joining the wardens is an honor, not a punishment. This is something everyone must remember." A look of panic grew across Anoras face,"You can't do this! My Father saved this country once!"

"And recently he's tried to destroy it! He tried to turn the whole country against the only ones who can do anything about the Blight! Cailan's death is on his hands!" The Warden lowed his voice back to a calm tone. "We can not let his crimes go unpunished Anora. Think of all those who have suffered at his hand. Surely they deserve justice do they not?" Before Anora could speak again Loghain pulled his daughter in for a hug. "Shhh. Anora it's all right. I will accept the punishment for my actions. If I am lucky the Maker will forgive me and we will meet again." Anora had tears rolling down her cheek. "Father, I will always remember you for who you were, not for who they made you out to be."

"My little girl is all grown up now." Loghain smiled at her then turned and joined Sten and Zevran and walked out of the great hall.

All eyes rested on the three left standing in the middle of the room. Alastair looked at Anora who was trying to hide the fact that she was still crying. He walked over to her and placed a hand on her shoulder, "for what it's worth, I am sorry it had to end this way." Anora grabbed his hand and gave him a weak smile,"You know I may never love you." Alastair brushed some loose hair from out of her eyes "Then I will try something new everyday until you learn to." He leaned down and kissed her hand. The Warden crossed his arms over his chest and bowed, then left to go back to camp.

When he got there they had Loghain by the campfire at the back of camp still guarded by Zevran and Sten. When He approached a smile crept across his lips at the sight of Morrigan before he turned his attention to Loghain. "Are you ready?" Loghain got off the ground so he could face The Warden. "Just make it quick, I know you will take care of Ferelden once I am gone." The Warden turned to his companions, "Leave us." When everyone was gone Loghain closed his eyes and stretched out his hands, "May the Maker watch over my daughter."

The Warden plunged his Dalish blade deep into Loghain's neck pulling it out and letting his body fall to the ground. He pulled out a piece of dark cloth and cleaned the blood off the dagger before putting it away. The Warden stood over Loghain with hands clasped and prayed until all signs of life had left. Then after waving Sten over the two of them threw his body onto the fire and let the smoke fade away into the night sky.
