Vladimir bit into his sandwich, capsules containing blood burst under his fangs and the red substance rushed over his tongue, making him smile slightly. Black bangs hung in his face, a black hoodie resting on his shoulders. Outside was nice, eating outside with his best friend Henry was even better.
The teen set his hands on his lap, staring straight ahead with distant eyes. Well...things were better than usual after his Uncle Otis Otis gave him the mark of a vampire on his wrist.
His name in the Elysian language too.
Aunt Nelly was calm but a bit jumpy every now and again. Bringing the sandwich back to his lips Vlad bit into it and chewed. At least he could hide what he really needed to feed off of in daily foods.
The half-vampire's eyes wandered over to the other boy who stuffed a Hostess cupcake into his mouth, grinning up at the sky after swallowing and taking a sip out of his Mountain Dew.
Taking the last bite out of his meal, Vlad hopped down from the table outside and headed over to the trash can, looking around with a contemplating look.
Still...the vampires believed that his father was still alive...
...if he was then why hasn't he come to save Vlad, to see him and explain everything?
No, the young Tod had seen the fire...his parents' bedroom aflame, his room included. Some things remained but he had been taken to Nelly. She wasn't really his aunt but she and his mother were as close as sisters so that made her family.
He loved life.
A best friend there to help him if it was needed, a wonderful guardian and no bullies since the two who did it in eighth grade now had their own.
...still...he wondered when Otis would come by and visit again...
"Hey, Vlad," Henry called from the doors to get back into the school, knocking the dark haired teen out of his daze, turning to look at his friend, "sixth period's about to start, let's go."
Nodding Vlad hurried over.
Nothing could be better than this...
...nothing.
