The Sandman Saves Christmas
One Christmas eve all through the night. Santa was getting ready for his yearly flight. But before Santa can take off, the Sandman has to put all the children to sleep.
One Week Before
Gaara woke up to a screeching sort of voice.
"We wish you a merry Christmas!" Kankuro sang off key.
"Would you shut up!" yelled Temari, stealing the words from Gaara's mouth.
"But Santa is coming in one week!" protested Kankuro.
"Oh come on. You believe in that junk!" Temari shouted.
"Yes I do! Santa thinks I'm a good boy and you guys are very bad. You'll just get coal. Tsk tsk tsk." Kankuro said annoyingly.
One hour later
"You know, you didn't have to beat me up. Gaara, I can understand that, but Temari…?
"You were whining like an annoying little puppy!" stated Temari.
"I agree." Gaara quietly added. Temari and Kankuro stopped their bickering and looked up at Gaara. "I agree with Temari. You're whining like a puppy." He stated again. This surprised them both. They weren't used to hearing Gaara talk, and when he did it was very quiet.
Five days later (22nd)
There were only three days left until Christmas (according to Kankuro).
"Three days left! Three days left! Three days lef-oof" Kankuro couldn't finish because Temari had stuffed his mouth with a sock and punched him in the stomach.
"Hey! I thought we told you to shut up with the fairy tales. God! You never give up, do you?" Temari started yelling insults about him and his fairy tales when Gaara walked in with a letter.
They looked up and stared at the letter.
"What's that and why's it green and red?" asked Temari, intrigued by the design.
"It's called Christmas colors and it's a letter from Saint Nick or Santa. It doesn't really matter which one you call him."
"Read it." Temari encouraged Gaara.
He started to read and this is what it said:
Dear Gaara,
I know this is sudden, but I need you help. Our old sandman is feeling sick. So I'm asking you this a huge favor:
Will you be the Sandman?
Your job is simple…all you have to do is put all the children to sleep Christmas eve. Please accept and thank-you.
Your jolly friend,
Santa Clause

Hohoho! Merry Christmas!
"Whoa! It really is from Santa. Otherwise he wouldn't have put "Hohoho-oof." Temari put a sock in Kankuro's mouth yet again. "Where do you get all these socks? Do you stuff them in your bra?" With that comment she punched his stomach and added: "No. They magically appear there dummy."
"Wow! How cool is that!" He said stupidly. She punched him again. Out of the blue, Gaara screamed:
"Shut up!" just as he commanded they did so.
"Well, will you accept or not…Mr. Sandman?" Kankuro bravely asked. Gaara glared at him so evilly that it made Kankuro cowered in a corner and started to squirm to hide his face from the glare.
"Well…are you or not?" Temari asked.
"…I guess…I have no choice…" Gaara said.
Christmas Eve
Gaara was already at the North Pole.
"Hohoho! Thank-you for accepting." Santa said cheerfully.
"Whatever…" Gaara said depressingly. Gaara was getting ready to set off. During his work he began to get cheerful (scary picture).
Christmas Day
When Gaara returned home he walked in the door smiling and humming the Sandman theme. Temari and Kankura backed up and ran off to their rooms and locked the door, never to come out. (Trust me, if you saw Gaara smiling and humming, you'd never want to come out of your room again…)
