"TOR."

"I told you already, nothing is bothering me!"

In truth, the Arceus-forsaken rain bothered me. Damn rain slowed me down. But I'm not one to talk.

Lucky Chimchar. Yeah, the weakling actually made me jealous for once. He was all safe from this stupid weather. Torterra and I weren't.

I was caught up in my thoughts, when a loud roar echoed through the area...followed by a scream.

I ran towards the source, and froze when I saw what was happening.

A young woman was clutching a tree tightly, her eyes filled with fear. Cornering her were five Ursaring and three Houndoom. Four pokemon were near her, SHINY, believe it or not. An Empoleon, a Torterra, an Infernape, and a Staraptor. All shiny, but fainted on the ground.

Looking closer, I saw the woman's arm dripping with blood. I nodded to Torterra, then sent out Honchcrow to help. "Torterra, Leaf Storm on the Ursaring! Honchcrow, Sky Attack on the Houndoom!" The attacks hit, and the pokemon ran away into the forest.

I sighed, returned both, then looked at the girl. She nodded, then tried to get up, but grunted in pain and fell down again. I ran over, and saw she had fell unconscious. Grabbing four pokeballs from her waist and returning the woman's pokemon, I took off my bag and took out some supplies. Wrapping a cloth around her arm to stop the bleeding, I picked her up on my back and carried her to the nearest pokemon center.

*** (DIFFERENT CHARRY NAO)

I woke up in a large room. Looking to my side, I saw the boy who had saved me sleeping. Lifting up the arm one of the Ursaring had struck, I saw it covered in a cloth. He must have put it on me to stop the bleeding of my arm.

The boy slowly woke up before looking over and saying. "Oh. Your finally up." I half smiled. "M-hm." I felt better, so I got up and walked over.

"What's your name?"

The boy stared up at me. "The name's Paul." I nodded. "I'm Lisa." All Paul did to respond was just grunt. I sighed, then walked towards the door.

"Leaving now? It's a little too soon, if you ask me."

I turned to Paul, and frowned. "But-"

"No buts. No leaving until your fully healed, got it? That scar, especially."

I sighed, then realized what he had mentioned. I lifted up my good arm and looked at the scar that was on the back of my hand, and a bit down the actual arm. "You don't understand. This scar has been here for my whole life." Paul shot his head up, shocked to here that.

"No joke?"

"None."

"How did you get it?"

Lisa stared, then looked at her arm sadly. She then started to speak.

"When I was a little girl, my parents and I were vacationing in Johto. While there, we had gone to a mountain range with a tour group. What the tour guide didn't know was that one of our destinations was near a Dragonite cave. We were attacked, and all of us evacuated. The only ones who stayed behind were the tour guide and my father, so they could fend off the attackers...

They never returned..."

I stared in shock, and Lisa started to first tear up, then sob. I slowly got up, and did something I never thought I would do.

I gave her a hug.

Lisa returned it and cried into my chest. I only continued the hug before letting go and wiping her tears. She blushed slightly, then said "I just wish that I could get rid of the past. Then father would still be with me!"

I softly smiled. "You can't get rid of the past, but you can probably escape it."

"Can you help me to do that?"

I smiled, then said "If you don't mind."

"Thank you, Paul."

"No problem, Lisa."

We walked out of the pokemon center, and I could just tell that we were both thinking the same thing.

"This is only the beginning..."
