Ruby was in a predicament.
Her eyes briefly turned entirely black and she glared as if she could stare it down and make it go away.
No such luck.
She continued picking away at the bit of torn skin near her index finger's nail.
"Is something wrong?"
Ruby growled softly, when distracted, Sam had sneaked up on her.
"No." She hurriedly tried to hide her hangnail.
Too late.
Sam smiled devilishly. Ruby had picked away at her irritated nail until it had dislocated and started bleeding.
Sighing, Ruby complied as Sam took her finger and pressed it to his lips.
