Macy is a straight-A student, who plays just about every sport she can.

Stella came up to her best friend, putting an arm around her shoulders.

"Hey, we still on for the movies on Friday?"

Macy sighed.

"Sorry, Stell. Field hockey practice."

"That's okay. Uh, how about Saturday?"

Macy shook her head.

"Studying for finals."

"How about--?"

Macy shut her locker and looked at Stella.

"Sorry, I can't do anything this month."

Macy left without saying goodbye.

But when Macy takes on too much…

A teacher came up to Macy.

"SATs are this Saturday, you ready?"

Macy smiled sweetly at him.

"Of course—Wait, did you say Saturday?"

The teacher nodded.

"At ten o'clock."

Macy sighed.

"I have softball practice at nine."

"Macy, you're going to blow off the SATs for softball?"

Macy sighed again, walking away.

...she burns out completely.

Macy leaned against her locker, slowly sliding to the floor. She holds her stomach, and begins to cry.

Will someone be there for her when no one else is?

Kevin waved goodbye to his brother before spotting Macy sitting on the floor. He walked over to her.

"Macy?"

She looked up at Kevin, but found it hard to focus. Kevin sat down next to her.

"Are you okay?"

Macy began to nod, but then she started to cry. She shook her head. Kevin pulled her close, rubbing her back.

"Shh, Macy. It's okay. It's okay…"

But is it okay?

Kevin helped her up, but had to catch her as she began to fall. Kevin was becoming concerned for his friend.

"Macy, what's wrong?"

Macy didn't answer; her eyes began to close. Kevin realized that something was seriously wrong.

"Oh, my God." He picked her up bridal style, hurrying into the nurse's office. "Hang in there, Macy. Hang in there…"
