If I die before I wake,

Do not mourn me, for my sake

For I know it in my mind

That though you did not show it, you were caring and kind.

Sneering, jeering, hating and snide,

These your exterior, the interior you never did confide.

Yet I could hear your tortured screams

In your unending nightmares, your terrifying dreams

Until, I, your enemy, was the one to coax and heal

Your painful and horrifying memories, only I could seal.

Now my only feelings, emotions, for you,

Are the warmth I feel, when I'm around you,

Because loving you is all that I do.





If I die before I wake,

Do not your tears a river make.

I'm not a guy worthy of you,

Although you never show it, I hope you know this too.

Compassionate, beautiful, yet completely tied

To your books and work, your secrets only to me you did confide.

Afraid to do so, but I your nemesis,

Found to be identical in thought and logic, pulled you through this.

Now all I can say, through what I think and do,

Believe or doubt, but what I say is true,

I find in my heart I can only love you.
