x ChouIno

Was she really going to do this?

Realizing she had already walked halfway to his house, she answered herself that, yes, she really was going to do this. Regardless whether she wanted to or not.

It wasn't Ino's fault really.

He was the one gorging himself on their barbeque pork. He was the one insisting on seconds. He was the one who brought out a bag of chips while said seconds were coming.

It wasn't her fault that she had to call him out and say what needed to be said. Ino could've used kinder words, she supposed, but that was precisely the reason she was walking to his house.

She certainly didn't expect him to be angry. Usually, when she gets on her tirades on the subject of his weight, Chouji merely shrugged it off. Maybe she went too far this time? Ino had to stop kidding herself. Of course she did. That's why Shikamaru demanded her to apologize. Shikamaru. Demanded. The man who spent half of his life looking at clouds and saying things like 'Troublesome.'

Ino took a deep breath as she arrived at the Akimichi home.

-Knock-

-Knock-

No one home? Oh well, I guess I'll just wr-Her hopes were dashed as the one and only Akimichi Chouza opened the door.

"Um, hi, Mr., uh, Akimichi. Chouji here?"

"Sure, you know the way." She nodded. She was uncharacteristically nervous. Ino was never good with apologies. Making the familiar walk to his room, Ino tried to think of what to say. And, as she knocked on his door, she realized she still hadn't thought of something in her worrying.

"Come in." She silently cursed him for sounding so…unChouji-like. Even so, Ino had the decency to look sheepish as she walked in, closed the door, and proceeded to lean on it. Chouji looked mildly surprised to see her. He was sitting on his bed surrounded by empty bags of his favorite potato chips. Inwardly, Ino gagged, but seeing as her dislike of his overeating had gotten her in this situation, she refrained from actually doing it. Comfort food, she guessed.

"Hi," Chouji had never heard Ino's voice be so small before. "I came, um, to…apologize for, you know, the thing I said before. I didn't mean it." Ino was having a tough time with this. Of everything that came to her naturally, apologizing was definitely not one of them. And, unfortunately, Ino did mean it, as awful as that sounds. Chouji knew her too well to believe her though.

"Yes you did." He said, simply. And, much to Ino's shock, smiling slightly. Ino had looked at him, as she had been very interested in the knick knacks on one of the shelves on his wall. Very interested, indeed. "You just care too much. About appearances I mean." She noticed he had a faint blush on his cheeks, it was hard to see with the swirls covering it, but it existed. Ino smirked.

"I do care, Chouji. That's why I'm saying sorry. You forgive me?" She seemed to have gotten rid of her shyness. Chouji was glad. Of all the things Ino was, shy definitely wasn't one of them.

"Of course." Ino gave him one of, what he dubbed, Ino-smiles. The ones that took over her face. He lifted his arms and she jumped at that chance of being wrapped in the arms of her favorite Konoha ninja.

Chouji.

(A/N) *peeps out from behind a wall* So? How was it? I normally don't like sharing what I've written to, well anyone. I'm amazed I've managed two oneshots already. Helpful criticism greatly appreciated =]
