Friends Just Want To Have Fun
"So." the blonde spoke up as he trailed behind the two talking friends. "Are you two dating?"
The friends, Yuya Sakaki and Yuzu Hiragi, looked back at him with shock on their faces before they looked at each other in a strange way Sawatari couldn't understand. Just as he was about to ask again, the pinkette threw herself into Yuya's arms and cuddled him.
"Yes, yes we are." the younger boy stated seriously as he kissed the girl's forehead.
"Whoa!" Sawatari blinked, wide-eyed. "I know that Serena guessed you were but... I gotta tell everyone about this!" with that being said, he ran off to find the other former Lancers and the rest of their friends and family to tell the 'news'. When they were sure he was gone, Yuzu pulled away and burst out laughing. It didn't take long for Yuya to join her as the smirks returned.
"Yuri would be proud of you." the Melodious duelist told her best friend as he chuckled at the blonde's stupidity and naivety.
"The same applies to you." he replied. "Shall we?" he held out his hand in a semi-mocking manner. In the same way, Yuzu joined hands with him.
"We shall."
Meanwhile, Sawatari had gathered everyone else, attempting to explain that Yuya and Yuzu had confirmed his suspicions.
"I think they are just making fun of you." Yuto told him smoothly as Ruri giggled beside him and continued her friend's thought. "Not that it's a very hard thing to do..."
"You two...!" the blonde began but cowered under Shun's glare. He was still overly protective of his best friend and little sister, despite the fact that both of them were now safe and sound.
"I would have to agree with eggplant." Yuya's Fusion counterpart and now 'brother', Yuri, spoke up, not looking up from his duel with Serena. "You are so easy to tease and prank..."
"It feels like that time when we joked about being together." Serena told him causing him to nod as Sawatari gaped at them.
"Even I'm not that stupid to believe that, Sawatari." Yugo said as Sora was too busy teaching Rin to fusion summon to even comment on his stupidity, which Sawatari was glad for. He knew that the little blue spitfire would probably insult him even more than the others had.
"But... I ... they ... hugged..." he tried again.
"You are truly just a joke." Shun spoke coldly, causing everyone present but himself and Sawatari to laugh. The blonde himself meanwhile wondered if it today was 'tease and mock Sawatari Shingo' day...
As he was thinking that, the duo in question was at the local ice cream palore, eating their favorite treats (strawberry for Yuzu and chocolate for Yuya) as they continued to wonder when the blonde would stop believing everything he saw and heard. They were glad to prove that a boy and a girl could be just friends. And they were just fine and comfortable with that.
Pranking Sawatari was just a bonus.
